Wonderful show Steve! I remember taking my son, Billy on these same adventures. Those 2 brothers behaved so nice. I was smiling the whole vid! Back then, my son Billy always had his paw first on find! Good memories, Bill is 28 now. Rk.
Ahhh Rick, my son is 29…and I specifically bought a second Simplex so he could join me. We’ve had some fun afternoons together. Those boys are fantastic, as are their parents! I think we’re going to have something in common, if they keep up the interest!
There’s two things I can think that metal thing might be… maybe a leaf spring bottom plate from a truck or a trailer or else maybe it’s part of a driveshaft flange from something. Thanks for the cool videos!
Great hunt and awesome finds always cool to see youngsters outside instead of sitting in front of a screen playing video games God Bless and happy dirt fishin…Virgil
Agree, but these boys are well raised country boys! Their parents have done an amazing job with them. I'm always glad to detect with them...especially since they're picking up skills more and more!

@@HistoryintheHandMetalDetecting My son Billy was my best buddy. I'm glad he still only lives about 10 miles away!!! Rk.

Thanks for the possible ID Steve! It certainly was a hefty piece of steel…although there are LOTS of those around a farmstead, that’s for sure!
Nice to see you getting the boys involved in the hobby, Steve. Nice relics you found, have to be careful of those underground cables.
Thanks Dave!
That cable was "fuzzy," and only audible on 1 axis. I should have checked for it on either side…but thankfully, no damage done!
