      More like thanking his personal God called "chi" in Igbo and what Yoruba call "Ori inu" for his smooth journey through life, while also thanking his mother for her prayers.

      @Nadel60 4 роки тому

      Ije= journey ( metaphor for life's endeavours) ; Awele=smooth or stress-free experience;( metaphor for blessing or success in life's undertakings). So, the song (Ije awale is success in life's endeavours). So the song is an expression of gratitude to God for "smooth journey" : success in life's endeavours .He acknowledges that God has been with him every step of the way (muna chi m so-aga; my God goes with me). It's also a prayers for God to grant him more "Ije awele".(success in his undertaking/endeavours).

      Ibos (or Heebos or "Habarus" rough variants of the term 'Hebrews' as they were known when they first arrived the land where they occupy today in the south-eastern part of Nigeria) are the true people of the Almighty. If they can turn their backs on catholicism, christianity, and other forms of voodoo and idol worship and find their way back to true Hebrew way of life and serving/worshipping the Almighty Creator and He alone, then He'll surely hear their prayers and send His word to set them free. It's that simple. catholic church and christianity are idol worship masquerading as something good .

      Ije= journey ( metaphor for life's endeavours; as in journey of life) ; Awele=smooth or stress-free experience;( metaphor for blessing or success in life's undertakings). So, the song (Ije awale is success in life's endeavours). So the song is an expression of gratitude to God for "smooth journey" : success in life's endeavours .He acknowledges that God has been with him every step of the way (muna chi m so-aga; my God goes with me). Dear Anelitha, for being able to write and understand Nigerian pidgin like this mean you have been with Nigerians for a very long time. We love SA because we are all one African family.

    Despite I'm a Yoruba lady, Igbo songs always give me enthusiasm and a special kind of joy, My love for Igbo songs is extraordinary though I couldn't understand a word from the song but I wish I could learn the language, seriously.
