- In this episode of Wisconsin Foodie, Host Luke Zahm travels to the northern tip of the state, Bayfield, to visit Applefest. Applefest brings in 50,000 people to Bayfield throughout the weekend to enjoy not only the beautiful apples but the different seasonal foods and cultural dishes. Luke visits with Calli from Hauser's Superior View Farms to talk about a special one of a kind apple that they produce. Afterward, Luke travels to the Red Cliff Fish Co to hear more about the impact of the Red Cliff tribe on the community and how they are trying to create a sustainable food economy not only for their tribes but the larger community. Luke prepares a dish on the shore of Lake Superior using the Hauser’s apples and Red Cliff whitefish fish.
I am from Puerto Rico and have been living in Wisconsin for the last 28 years. This show always reminds me of why I am so very proud to be a Puerto Rican Cheesehead! I am blessed to come from a beautiful island and live in a wonderful state 💖
Just gotta say, loving Luke as the host
I started out thinking I would watch for a couple of minutes......WELL.... I found this entire video fantastic... I just love how he did the shore lunch .... I have done this also but slightly different.... I add red, orange and yellow peppers along with fresh mushrooms... makes me want to go and get a few ingredients and cook...
