Thank you for this video. It is such a beautiful and rich song! This is somewhat unrelated, but how did the drummer accomplish that set up with the tambourines? He obviously mounted one on a HH stand, but what's up with the one hanging off? (I'm a drummer/percussionist at our church who is looking for new ideas)
+Daryle Worley I think it's just there to add more "jingle" and help the sound cut through better -- the zils on the mounted tambourine look pretty small compared to the hanging one. I've found that goat hooves or strings of ankle bells similarly draped over the mounted tambourine or top hh cymbal lend a similarly nice (if somewhat more subdued) effect.
I feel like he could have just used a kick drum with a soft touch instead of the cajon and it would have sounded exactly the same and been much less awkward, yeah? Haha. But it sounded really great. Love this song.
