The Archer fires four arrows one after the other. About 25 were made by David Secrett in the 1970/80s. See David making & describing these archers in this 1979 film: • BBC TWO SMALLWORLD 197...
The figure is made of fruit woods and shown here without his shirt. The mechanism is finely made fusee clockwork.
Imagine being drugged, tied to a chair and waking up in half light to see this thing taking aim at you with its arrows.
What a bizzare mind you have...

Reminds me of that Asian (forget the origin, Japanese or Chinese) automaton of a lady shooting arrows. Cute small, very delicate, would be nice if the two were in the same room, that'd be a very interesting contrast.
those are japanese automata, they are colled karakuri ningyo (karakuri = mechanism and ningyo = doll)

Well, I clicked on this video fully expecting to see a puppet kill someone with his arrows. I have been horribly misled - I demand my 2:07 back! But seriously, that would make a pretty cool murder mystery... ;D
Nobody will suspect the mechanical puppet. The perfect murder. It'll let the usual Butler suspect off the hook.

Is more complex then the real Japan arrow shooter automata or is just a reproduction on a larger scale ?
Is it real the auto gears do all this action ,i think it's difficult

@@arburo1 OK.I made this very simple automaton to give a more realistic action, (I wasn't concerned about the aesthetics).

Specifically, the bow arm should stay relatively straight and the string is drawn back by the other arm pulling back. In your automaton, the draw (which is rather short) is achieved by bow hand pushing forward.
The action of picking up the arrow is superb.
