Personally, I appreciate how "The Princess and the Cobbler" paid little odes to Williams' vision by keeping the thief silent, not adding nonsensical monologue for everything happening on screen, no pop culture references (especially to Aladdin), and yes, Tack talks here, but at least it's limited. Plus, I also love Steve Lively's voice! It is so soothing! He has a lot more emotion and care into his role than Matthew Broderick who plays Tack in monotone (he is just reading his lines, but who could blame him with the long monologue script they gave him?). I also appreciate "The Princess and the Cobbler" for having the voice actors of Tack and Yum Yum be both the speakers AND singers for a smoother transition to the musical numbers. Nothing against voice doubles! I just like it when there is a smooth transition with singers who sound similar to the voice actors, or vice versa. @@theempireeofficial3935 Simply put, he may be a prominent name in the film industry, but he often lacks the passion and emotion of a true actor.
he only had one line in the original cut and it was "I love you" it was deep and manly which to me was very attractive but this voice suits him too considering he's a young boy. the Miramax version just massacred Tacks charm.
I think Tack voice is really great 👍
yes amazing
Better than the Miramax cut
That’s the voice of Matthew Broderick.
And Matthew Broderick was also the voice of Adam in Dreamworks animated film, Bee Movie.
I like both the talk and no talking. Both fit him very well and speak about his character.
The talking only really works for him at the end of the movie. Feels more special that way
0:12 and the wedding line should have been his ONLY lines. Those two lines actually have meaning to his character
I love this movie no matter what! Tack was a big cartoon crush of mine! 😍
Glad to see others simp for this bleached lad
I simp for him. He's adorable
God I thought I was the only one, glad I'm not alone :,)
Tack's freaking adorable whether he speaks or not
little silly, the skrunckly, the spoingy, the baby. I love him
I'll take this voice over the Arabian Night version any day.
marco ciabattino
marco ciabattino
"Io ti amo"
This voice but hes only allowed to say his last line from the movie
Perfect.
He is SO *CUTE* !
0:51 idk why but this made me laugh-
I was expecting Mathew Broderick’s voice, but this is way better. Also, the original mute version is the best one.
I prefer him not talking but I love this voice so much, especially compared to his voice at the end of the original. This fits him much better.
I've never seen so many people get so angry at someone speaking
You haven't heard of the Tom and Jerry movie, then.
Imagine voicing a character only for the team to say last minute, “we decided to make him mute”.
This is the opposite of what happened.
Bro went through 5 different skin tones in one movie.
It's been years but I still love this boy with my whole heart
I only like it when he doesn’t talk throughout the movie but I like the voice at the end when he talks
Exactly, 😏hmmm 😊😜👌😅
I like tack with AND without a voice. Either way it suits him. I've watched both versions of this and like them equally!
"NOT THE SHOE" 😭😭 idk why that was so funny
It doesn't matter if he talks or not, he's adorable and we all love 'em.
... Am I the only one who thinks that Tack looks SLIGHTLY better when he's speaking?
That's because the scenes where he's talking were done by Fred Calvert's team. The rest of them were animated by Richard Williams
I'm in the camp where i hated Tack being voiced, but having Jonathan Winters be the Theif's inner voice actually improved the character for me? Like, having 2 mute characters was a bit much, and Winters really brought so much personality to the Thief scenes.
I always loved both versions. I think my BIGGEST gripe with this version, is the thief's inner monologue we would hear. I like him as a silent a-hole.
Tack at the beginning: 👦🏻
Tack at the end: 👦🏿
Steve Lively is kinda underrated.
Matthew Broderick should go hide under a rock before the cult of Miramax haters come after him lol.
"Why can't I ever talk when it matters?" I relate to this in a spiritual level
now while i do think him being mute is a good character choice, i do think his voice is very fitting for him
Poor guy, giving his best with what he had then replaced by Simba who did an even WORSE job.
Uh, Correction. Matthew Broderick did an even worse job voicing Tack.
Tack: Why can I ever talk when it matters Nostalgia Critic: You can say that for all the lines in this movie
*It's Tacking time!*
😏😏😏🤤🤤🤣😸😊 👌 preppare your ass.....
@@Randomstuff33688 hahahahaha whaaaa
They're worse mistake was trying to turn this into a Disney film
Better than Matthew Broderick.
true
0:55 - he sounds so mortified. Like, _"Was this in my mouth all this time?! What if I accidentally swallowed this while I was sleeping or whatever, I could've killed myself! Oh god!!"_
I just want this voice to be his voice during the wedding scene
i dont know if that peach cobbler boy saying a tack or attack
Both, really. It's a pun.
*OOF* I liked the fact that he never spoke. His emotions and intentions still rang out clear. It made the one and only time he actually spoke, THAT much more meaningful. 😫
But this voice fits Tack perfectly
He is a even bigger sweet baby when he speaks
I just love h so much oh my gosh.
I just realized the creators are probably running into the same problem with Mario in his upcoming 3D movie.
He went from pale white to very dark.
Exactly my comment. Did they forget what color he was along the way??
Someone in he comments of another video it was possibly to represent Tacks growth in the movie as a person (Although they could have gone about it differently i suppose)
The character is no doubt more fascinating as the preferable mute version, so regardless, giving him a voice was going to be...
a Tacky move.😎
I see what you did there
Tack is one of the most adorable characters I've seen in a cartoon
Cobbler’s confidence enhanced his Melanin.
I really love him
Same.
That He's A Cutest Tack Ever
I'll be an outsider but I will say that I like the version where he speaks more
I was just about to comment this
My childhood crush
This guy pulled a M.J. move.
It’s understandable why many people hate this version of Tack as it goes against Richard’s original but…
I love both versions! :)
Obviously there’s no beating Richard’s original, but I just can’t hate Steve’s version of Tack either, his voice is so sweet for the character (honestly way better than Mathew), and when he sings as him ESPECIALLY (. as cheesy as the songs are)… 💖💖💖 AAH! My heart! (There has to be a way to get in touch with him and Bobbi page for them to remake and actually sing the full versions of “It’s So Amazing”, and “Am I Feeling Love” from the soundtrack version where those two other people sang them, that would be cool, and it’s probably possible, although probably not as Steve hasn’t done any work for the past 26 years, but I know that Bobbi still sings and stuff so hmmm… I’m not sure…
Also whatever you do don’t look up Steve on the internet to ruin the illusion of Tack, I believe that newest image of him isn’t even him, looks way too old for a voice like his coming out of Tack, there was another image a while ago, but I’m not sure if it was even him either but looked a bit younger than the newest image…
Love how he gradually gets darker.
Mute or being able to Speak, both will still be able to make me go: “Awhh”
This character works better mute, but it’s definitely better than the Mathew Broderick dub
Ewww there was matthew broderick dub 😂
Tack is a cute and handsome man.
Oh the beauty of Richard Williams and his drawing on 1s
YOU HAVE NK IDEA HOW LONG IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS I THOUGHT IT WAS THE PRINCESS AND THE TAILOR THANK YOU SO MUCH
My pleasure!
