I'm 61 now , but I remember as a young teenager you would see these little trucks everywhere.. And there were so many things you could do to make them look really good. I never had a Datsun, but I've been in a few of them and they were a strong little truck. I did have a 83 Toyota , not much different really. But I enjoyed watching your build and you did a fantastic job.. I especially love your motor work. I'm definitely going to subscribe to your Channel. 👍
Glad you enjoyed the build. I owned several of these 620s and always enjoyed them and enjoyed working on them. Never had a toyota pick up but I did have a friend who did and had no complaints either! Thanks for the sub, it is appreciated.
"This build is an absolute work of art! 🌟 The Datsun 620 has always had a special place in automotive culture, and seeing it brought to life in miniature form is both nostalgic and inspiring. Your attention to detail in this build is truly remarkable, capturing the essence of what makes the 620 such an iconic truck. From the custom seats to the printed lowering kit, every element of this build reflects a deep appreciation for the lowrider culture of the '90s and the unique design of the 620. As someone who’s owned multiple Datsun 620s, it’s clear that you’ve poured your heart and soul into this project, and it shows in every step of the build. The way you’ve balanced customization with staying true to the original kit is a testament to your skill and passion. Thank you for sharing this incredible journey with us, and for keeping the spirit of the Datsun 620 alive through your craftsmanship. I’m sure I speak for many when I say, we’d love to see more builds like this in the future. Keep up the fantastic work! 🚗✨"
It is actually quite a good kit by MPC with a lot of accurate details. I have modified the suspension but it does come with original leaf rear and torsion bar front suspension.
@@marsgarage8217 the front suspension I picked up on Facebook a few years ago. It’s actually for the S10 kit but I modified it to fit the Datsun. It is a printer set of pieces that make the front adjustable. Maybe you can find something similar on Cults3d. I have done this kit previously and used the suspension from the kit by cutting off the arms and raising everything and gluing it back together.
I like that kinda cornflower blue you have going there, Spencer. I want to paint mine butterscotch, which is a color I well remember on these back in the day. I haven’t opened mine yet, so what’s up with the hole in the bed?
Pretty sure one of the 6 I’ve owned over the years was that butterscotch color. It’s perfect. With this one I actually built a full custom suspension, lowered spindles and adjustable in the front and a complete scratch built 4 link rear end with a C-notch for rear ride height. With the notch you need to cut away some of the bed floor for the notch to fit. Unfortunately I didn’t actually film any of it as I wasn’t going to build this for UA-cam but when the Ferrari paint got ruined, I figured I would finish this one off for UA-cam first. I will have more photos on my instagram when I begin posting them. If you are building this with the stick ride height, it is really really high. 🤣

Thank you for your comments and your consideration.
As the owner of a real '76 Datsun truck back in the early '80s, I can say this is nearly perfect!

Thanks for watching Karl. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great build, I miss mini trucks being on the roads. So few left.
@@scaleffect tell me about it. I have to live my past through mini truck groups on Facebook. 🤣
Awesome!

Thanks so much.
Amazing work.
@@Pinkys-one-offs thank you for saying.
Nice build! I noticed you didn't scratch the paint where things are glued! I scrape areas where things are to be glued for better adhesion.
Yes, you are correct, I don't always scratch the area being glued.
Very cool.
Thanks so much!

You're welcome, I have that kit, and I want to lower it, what kind of front suspension did you use on it?

Where did all the dropped suspension components come from? These 3d printed items?
The front I got from someone on FB years ago. it was for the S-10 kit but I modified it to work on this one. The rear is a scratch built 4 link.
