- I hiked to a beautiful statue overlooking the cliffs of the Saguenay Fjord in Quebec. The 8 km hike is steep, but the views are worth it.
Notre-Dame du Saguenay (Our Lady of Saguenay) is made of white pine covered in lead leaves. Inspired by a harrowing misadventure by a local traveler, the statue was erected in 1881. It is now part of the Saguenay Fjord National Park.
This is the second time I have done this hike. In 2017, I visited the statue while participating in the Canada C3 Expedition. You can find my blog post from 2017 here: www.blogger.com/blog/post/edi...

I envy that statue a bit, always looking at such beauty 🤩
I never thought of it from the statue’s perspective. You’re right!
Wow, Dawn. What a beautiful area and history of the statue was amazing. Im also out of breath just watching you navigate this trail system.
Tough trail, but so worth doing for the views alone. The statue is a nice bonus. Thanks for watching, Kenny!
