I think if Jacurri Brown is good enough to be QB2, then he will be named QB2. I'm rooting for him and always have. Mario Cristobal doesn't have some sort of "hidden agenda" against him.

Williams played with starters and a solid Line. Brown should be the backup. Mario was very upset about those comments, he was mad when Brown asked to redshirt, and he doesn’t want Brown to utilize an outside QB coach. Why would you have so much faith in Mario and he continues to show terrible judgment such as: not knowing when to kneel the ball TWICE!, the same Mario who blamed a running back for fumbling when he failed to kneel the ball, the same Mario who chose to allow TVD to ruin the canes by giving the ball away! COOP U TRIPPIN! It’s clear you don’t know football and if Mario was racist, how da hell would you know? Making privileged statements doesn’t mean you’re right. Don’t be that guy.

JB might like his professors at UM. Wish they would just find a spot for JB. But Pof is 2nd QB IMO, But like I said Coaches know ! Emory did beat Clemson and was playing good against FSPOO. There's a factor that you're missing from your assessment... players' personal behavior and attitude. Now, I'm not pointing fingers and calling anyone out but, Miami has had a long standing issue with that and culture change has been a focus point for many, many years now. Perhaps, playing time hasn't anything to do with ability to play football, rather inability to get along with others on your team.
In today’s game coaches don’t beat around the bush. I mentor kids at some big schools. Coaches literally tell players to hit the transfer portal. So if they wanted JB gone he would be gone.

There is no starting rotation in the Oline yet. Literally everyone is playing with 1s then 2s the next day. No depth chart and Louis is will never start.

He was never brought in to be a starter. He hasn’t flashed staring ability. Everybody needs to be worried about our secondary. Not who’s starting on the OLine. 3 weeks into spring football

Do you have proof? The outside QB coach is an ex Hurricane that Mario recommended! He gave the ball to the running back so he could get over a 100 yards and a safe play. If you go back that fumble was not a fumble but a strip after the player was down!
I would suggest you take your own advice, and not be that guy. The guy that goes off the handle over a nothing burger, and trying to make an issue. Even the best coaches in the world don't call every okay perfectly. Does that mean it shreds any faith in that coach? Nope, not at all. What evidence is there anywhere that Mario is even remotely racist? Don't be that guy.

JB in my opinion is #4 on this 2024 team. JB has all the chances to improve his stock over the years. He has not. He can be a good QB elsewhere.

JB doesn't run a 4.4. Not in pads he doesn't. He doesn't look fast as a runner when he takes off. Cam Newton and Vince Young looked way faster

Keep up the good work Coop, for anyone that is bashing Emory for his stats. let's not forget what TVD did in 2021 not as a true freshman. TVD first 2 starts against FBS teams were terrible he went 35/74 467yds 2TD 3Int and an average completion percentage of 48% those 2 games against UVA and UNC. Than they open the playbook up to him and everyone was raving about him the next 6 games going over 300 yds/game and 3TD's/game. Emory just needs more play time with an open playbook. Again that was TVD after sitting a year and practicing a year before he started. Emory had slightly better stats his first 2 starts against tougher opponents as a true freshman against Clemson and FSU he went 32/56 3TD 1Int and average 54% completion percentage. Mark my words, Emory will most likely be QB1 in 2025 if no further injuries. Also if we keep all QB's this season which I doubt we do. I wouldn't doubt it if you see Poff in 4 games Emory in 4 games and Brown in 4 games in the garbage time or as options.

Neither of them were really that impressive so you bring in a top QB not only to succeed this season, but to show future QB recruits what the offense can look like behind a capable QB. Well, if Jacurri played closer to the way Cam Ward plays, maybe he d get to No 2. You also have to demonstrate smarts, good passing accuracy and the ability to ad lib and escape from bad plays sometimes. Ward seems to be showing all that. Reese and Williams are too a bit. I like Jacurri but being patient and waiting for his transformation may cost games when other backups are executing overall at a higher level. Jacurri s passing reportedly by many has still been inaccurate at times and inconsistent. The best players to help the team win should be always be the priorities.
I agree with you about the race issue. I like Brown but he does not look like a good fit for Miami. I hope he does transfer. I would like to see him get some playing time and hope he does well with another team. If I had to start a QB this season that is not Ward I would take my chances with Emory just because he would have more time to grow with the team.

For Jacurri to be named the 2nd QB he would have had to clearly taken that spot and dang near challenged Cam for the starting job. You can't play it safe in a situation like he is in.....he would have to lead in meetings, lead in passing drills, lead WR's in timing drills, study more film than the coaches and put up top numbers each day in practice.....he has to TAKE his spot(in thought, word and deed), not be named to a spot.
Whether you been our starting QB before shouldn't matter it doesn't automatically give you a spot, every year is a competition for a job you may have it one year then lose it the next it's all about competing
