- Here is the playlist where you can find videos on how to setup your GTM and Analytics for your Website Platform: • How to Setup Tracking
This video is going to help you setup your Facebook Pixel on your Website with GTM (Google Tag Manager).
Couldn't find any good videos explaining the logic behind how to set up the pixel so it also gathers information about the products a visitor have clicked on and the different values that are needed for good tracking and optimisation for your ads. Especially when it comes to dynamic ads - the pixel needs specific information so that it shows exactly the product the visitor has looked at.
Hope this helps you and saves you a lot of time searching.

I saw that you haven't made videos in a year, this video helped me like no other on UA-cam! You are a legend! If you are married I hope you are very rich and happy with your wife, if you are single I hope you are very rich with lots of hot women serving you good things! You deserve! A hug from a guy from Brazil - Rio de Janeiro!
Man, this has to be the most detailed video on UA-cam regarding tracking e-commerce events on Facebook using GTM. Yet to implement it though, if I run into any issue while at it, I'd reach out but this is AMAZING
Thank you! No worries, if you have a problem with something, feel free to reach out of course. 🤘

Amazing Video! I do have a question about setting up the values. My store has multiple product categories with multiple variants and prices. How will I track all of them without making a 1000 variables?
No worries. You probably have an e-commerce store, as I am showing in the video, am I right?
If that's the case, then you don't have to create a separate variable for every product.
That's why when we are creating a variable, let's say for name, we write "eventModel.items.0.name".
This variable will get every products' name (when someone views it or adds it to cart or initiate checkout).
There is only one case where you want to make more variables - if someone purchases more than 1 product. Than we need, let's say up to 10 variables (most times I just create up to 5 variables, cause really small number of people are going to purchase more than 5 products and it's not that obligatory to track all the 10).
And for those variable you just change the "0":
- "eventModel.items.0.name" - This will track every 1st purchased product name
- "eventModel.items.1.name" - This will track every 2nd purchased product name
- "eventModel.items.2.name" - This will track every 3rd purchased product name
- "eventModel.items.3.name" - This will track every 4th purchased product name
- "eventModel.items.4.name" - This will track every 5th purchased product name
And I do the same for the "id" variable.
I hope this was helpful and you got the logic behind it.
If it's something else I would be glad to help. Just let me know 😄
Hi, great video man. One question. I saw a GA4 ecommerce event tag and trigger at 2:02. I saw a lot of events in the summary of google tag assistant. How did you bring this?
As I mention in the video you first have to setup GA4 (Google Analytics 4).
There is a link in the description to a playlist I've created with tutorials on how to do this for different platforms (and some other tracking stuff). Check it out.

@@gu-media I have seen all those videos. The video from Loves dara does something like this and I saw GA4 e-commerce data there. But unfortunately I do not see any google channel app in my shopify store. That is why I reached out to you.
Thank you for this video just i have problem in my facebook events error missing currency value paramètre
Can you help me please?
Can you see the currency in Google tag manager?
Wow! Good job mate! One question, if I want to set up the normal FB pixel and API.. can I do the same code for that? And also can I choose the different FB pixel for that too? Thanks!!🙏🏻
Thank you man! Appreciate it!
What do you mean by the different pixel? Also what platform you use for your website? (Shopify/Wordpress...)
Thank you for the great video.
If I will send only the parameter product id ignoring the price, name, brand name, category - the Remarketing will not work?
It should still work normally with only the product id, but without sending the price parameter to the pixel you won't be able to create good analysis (it won't be showing you the purchase conversion value, so you won't be able to analyse ROAS and other important metrics and see which ad is most profitable) and optimise your ads properly.
@@gu-media Thank you so much 🙏
@@vasylk.2571 Of course! Let me know if anything pops up.
Is the procedure same with "both facebook pixel for web & conversions API" ?
And also please come up with a new video, preferably on WooCommerce.
This way works for WooCommerce websites as well. You can find a link to a playlist in the description, where you can find a video that shows you how to install GTM on WooCommerce website.
For Conversion API you have to connect Facebook directly to the backend of your website. The idea of Conversion API is that you connect Facebook to your website's API and it pulls information directly from there.
Facebook got pretty good guide on that, for every platform they support Conversion API for (WooCommerce too). Business manager -> Events manager -> find your pixel and click on it -> Add events (button) -> Add new integration -> Conversion API -> follow the steps
is that possible to make view item without GA4 ?
Never have done it without. It's really easy when doing it with.
What platform are you using?
Great video! If the events are showing up in the event test section does that mean they're active? Because they appear as inactive in my ad manager
Thank you! Glad I helped 😄
My experience has been the same - it takes some time for the pixel helper to start showing that the events are firing. So it sounds like it should be all good if they appear in the event test section.
@@gu-media Thanks!
how to enable Data layer on shopify? I do not see on debug mode events.
As I mention you first have to setup GA4 (Google Analytics 4).

Thanks man! If there's a page where I can buy you a coffee send it over! (wanted to tip you here but I guess you need more subs for that option)
Haha, thanks! Means a lot man! Glad I was helpful, this one is on me ;)
