Fermented my apples for four days and just made my Cinnamon apple smoothie. Very good!
Happy Bird day 💝 Wishing you all a Blessed day with warm hugs and Family. Love y'all 💖
WOW God has Blessed you with sooo much knowledge thanks for your videos
Glad to see your smile today Heidi!
Happy Thanksgiving!
🍗🦃🍰
Ok, my list of new fun tasty things to try is just getting longer. Thank you so much for sharing these things with us!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. God Bless you all
Haven't done this before can't wait to try. Thanks for sharing. Such good info.
Amazing ideas Heidi.
Thank you so much for all that you do to help us on UA-cam !!!
And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
I love those silicone sealers. They also have one that covers the top and you put the plastic lid over it. They work great for keeping smoothies fresh. Just fill the jar right to the top sit the sealer on top. It seals all the air out and your smoothies will last in the fridge for a couple of days without loosing any quality.
You are amazing! God sure has blessed you, dear! Thank you for your videos, I have learned sooo much over the years....and I especially love you because you are a "sister"! So, just know that we love you guys out here in MN:) Blessings and thanks again for your research and experimenting...you just make it so easy for everybody out there (and me!) Thanks so much Heidi! Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you all
This is pretty cool I have been mixing my homemade ginger kombucha with all my smoothies after I blend up the smoothy to get the probiotics in there. But I am definitely going to try this. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you Patrick Jaxson and all. 🦃
Just thinking of that cinamon apple smoothy is making me salivate. I've had some apples from a neighbour too, mostly "cookers", and will use them for that. Should really improve them for raw consumption. For keeping the counter clean with several jars you can use those long shallow plastic drawer organisers. They can take several jars without taking up too much more counter space.
THANK YOU dear Heidi for yet another one of your AMAZING recipes. I made this as you provided instructions and will exercise patience before trying it.
OH WOW, drinking this is a BEAUTIFUL gift to ones self in the morning. I made the apple one with ginger root, vanilla bean and used a lot of willpower while it was fermenting. It was so worth it. THANK YOU for sharing this recipe with us. It will be a regular in my house.
You are having way too much fun.lol..love it
Thanks for the ideas!! Love em!💖
Love that! What a great idea!! 💕😊🙏
Happy Thanksgiving from South Georgia and don’t eat to much and may God Bless your family and friends and all your shows friends
Happy Thanksgiving from middle GA 🙏... Love this channel
Happythanksgiving
You make a ton of different stuff. I enjoy learning from you. I would be interested for you to do a UA-cam on a typical day, if you haven’t already, of what you eat & drink during the day, including meals & snacks. Looking for how you incorporate all these wonderful things into your daily life.
I do not always eat and drink the same things every day other than my homemade herbal teas but even those, I am always making new recipes and changing it up. If you are curious about my herbal tea recipes, I have a video series on those:

Happy Thanksgiving
Lol! You opening that jar was like me opening my husband's smoothie jar since it had been MIA for a week and he found it in his car... and it's been a consistant 90°!
Watching the extract video next!
Happy Thanksgiving guess I'll try making a fermentation starter again 😉 God Bless you and your family from middle GA 🙏
Heidi, have you ever written a book on all your vinegars, fermentations, extracts, etc? I would love to order it.
Nope, no books and likely will never have one unless I quite doing youtube
Looks great! Will have to add that on my list of things I want to try! Happy Thanksgiving and have a blessed day!
Wow! Thanks, I’ve never thought about doing this. I’ve tried making a raisin ferment from your video but never thought about doing the fruit like that to a smoothie. I’ll have to give it a try. Also, your hair looks nice with your hair-tie. 👍🏼🤩
Happy thanksgiving. Love your videos.how long can you keep in the fridge after you .blend it up?
It can keep for a very long time but it tastes best within the first few days, it will grow progressively more alcoholic the longer it sits so it may just depend on the person
The bottom blades of your blender fit on a regular mouth jar so you can blend it right in the jar
This is true but not always wise. Too easy the rubber gasket can slip and get chewed up destroying both the gasket and the smoothie. I know this from experience
Heidi - that looks AMAZING!! and easy too :)
NOTE: The liquid I am adding is the FERMENTATION STARTER and I have a video on how you can make your own (as mentioned in the video) in the description box. Please click on SHOW MORE or that little grey triangle if you are on a smart device to open the description box to find the many video and other links I put there. Both are located below the video screen.
ALSO - it should be stored in the fridge once it is fully bubbly and is best consumed within a week, however, since it is fermented, it will last a long time in cold storage but will increase in alcohol content
Ty
It's a great idea, thanks so much for sharing!! I have a question, after blending do you leave it outside to continue fermentation or inside the fridge? I love your videos, thank you very much!!!
After it is finished, I store in the fridge
thankful for you! how long do you think these will last in the fridge?
It is best consumed within a week, however, since it is fermented, it will last a long time in cold storage but will increase in alcohol content
Rain Country good to know😆thanks
Good morning Heidi. Do you then keep the finished smoothie in frig and how long will it last
Best stored in the fridge and consumed within a week but it will last a very long time there since it is fermented but keep in mind, it will still continue to get stronger with an increased alcohol content
At what point of the day would you drink your apple smoothies & how often would you drink them during the week. Do they store well for a few days?
I usually drink mine around noonish and have 4-8 ounces a day. They will keep for a very long time in the fridge since they are fermented but the alcohol content starts to increase after a few days even in the fridge so I try to finish any fermented juice or smoothie off within 3-4 days. I usually only make a quart at a time because of this
so it stays sweet? without the honey? how would it taste and whats the taste with honey?
Hi Heidi......smoothie ideas look great, I just have a question: with the drinks being fermented do you have to be careful not to drink too much at a time? Like with fermented sauerkraut, you shouldn’t eat more than 2 tablespoons at a time. Just wondering??? Thank you, love your channel!
I find I do have to be careful, even though they are very lightly fermented, I can usually only handle 2-4 ounces at a time
Thanks Heidi, May Jesus bless your day😊
Thanks Heidi, May Jesus bless your day😊

Hi Heidi. I made fermented pear for smoothie. I did it like you did but without starter. Then I left it for 4 days by stirring daily but smell is not pleasant. It smells little bit rotten but the color is great .I put it in the fridge. I don't know if it's okay to drink. Thank you.
That is why I always use a starter, you can never be certain if something is going to ferment properly without it. As I said in the video, making your own starter is super easy and can be made from whatever fresh or dried fruit or herb you have. Please check out the video on how to do it that I linked to in the description box
I thinking I can add about a 1/4 cup of my plain kombucha as the starter...what do you think?
I am sure you can
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you so much for the speedy reply!❤
Mam after fermantaion left over liquid how to use
So is for the probiotics? Just curious as to the benefits of fermented apples ?!
She said she got apples from neighbour but it wasn't crunchy anymore to eat fresh so making this is one way to use it
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi,I've been trying to make vinegar but after 6weeks all I have is very strong wine, would adding Apple cider vinegar help?
It might but there are two other things that could be preventing it from turning to vinegar:
1) lack of exposure to oxygen due to a tight fitting lid or using an air lock. If this is the case, remove the lid and replace with a cloth or coffee filter and use a rubber band to hold in place.
2) Too much sugar in the ferment will cause the process to take much longer or possibly come to a stop and never finish.
Thanks for the info,
How long does your smoothie last once it’s made ..few days or week to drink it up ?
They can last much longer than that but they will keep fermenting even in the fridge so I try to use them up within a week to avoid them becoming too alcoholic
@@RainCountryHomestead Thanks Heidi! You should really consider doing a recipe book I would definitely buy one ! 😊👍
@@scentsbyemebathbody3161 Please see this (at least the first few minutes): ua-cam.com/video/xMZJnarDGL8/v-deo.html
Your smoothies look quite ‘still’. I often find myself drinking smoothies while they’re bubbling and crackling.
Trust me, they are fizzy.
How long can these on countertop
ferment for 3-4 days on the counter, store in the fridge after that. Recommended you consume within a week
But what if this is your first time and you don't have anything from a previous batch to add that cup of whatever? What do you do then?
You mean the fermentation starter? Then you need to make one! Check out the link I mentioned in the description box.
@@RainCountryHomestead okay thanks!
I guess I am confused because I thought I made it clear in the video what it was and that I have a link in the description box on how to make one...Did I forget to say something?
@@RainCountryHomestead I think we got a little turned around when you added the cup from the previous batch...and we werent sure if you were just giving the recipe for the current video in the link or what...
@@flamingpieherman9822 OH! I see your confusion, that was not a previous batch, it was the fermentation starter itself, however, it does look very similar because it also has apples in it. haha!
Apple seeds contains arsenic
They are totally safe to eat and even healthy in small quantities. They do not actually contain arsenic, they contain a compound that can turn to cyanide in the gut but you would have to chew up a very large quantity for them to be at all harmful and who on earth does that? Please see this video: ua-cam.com/video/ogpO2oJbgK0/v-deo.html
