Personal opinion you looked alot more smooth and comfy on the red beast on the ktm just seems like in the ruts it just drops too low and you have to force it back up and the honda seemed like you got in a rut and stayed super smooth the whole way through

It’s so weird looking at the difference between old bikes and new bikes, I have a 1978 Yamaha GT80 with a square frame, a metal gas tank and a super loud 2 stroke motor! Looking at the new bikes seems alien to me
Seemed like twich was more prevalant when you kicked your rear end out to the throttle side .. every other landing was flawless
My CRF125F is killer on the track I love it puts up a good competition between it and my 500cc Husk.

The 2022 CRF250 seems to be a hit with the majority of testers I've watched and read. They can't all be Honda biased so maybe this is a golden year for the Lites Honda? Wish I was still riding.
The Deegans signed Yamaha we have always know Yamaha is the bike if you have ever owned one come on now
@@justiningle8884 I had a crf and yzf and loved both bikes for different reasons. Both gave me the buzz. I never worried about what others rode personally as long as were all having fun. A good rider is good on any bike.
@@justiningle8884 Maybe the factory bikes. On a stock one though you just cant justify that wet weight...
@@justiningle8884 all comes to rider preference I prefer a bike that is light and nimble that I can carve corners with. I've rode plenty of my mates new yz250f's trying to jump on the blu-cru wagon because of the hype and yes they are grunty off the bottom and it feels like you are riding over a cloud even through the most choppy terrain but... they are absolute pigs in the corners (worst cornering bike on the market), feel very top heavy and wide, stock suspension is too plush as it doesn't handle big hits or g-outs very well (that's why yamaha has been stiffening it up every year) and I feel like I'm forever shifting gears as they just have no top end at all. You can't compare factory bikes to stock bikes at all just take roczens rmz450, according to shootouts that's the worst bike available yet he killed it on that

You looked amazing on both bikes but it’s crazy how much ur own bike with personalized setup seemed to open up your style and flow!
Oh and let’s not forget the A kit suspension that’s probably on ur 450, that never hurts lol
To be honest, I'll take the ProTaper handlebars and Guts Racing seat over the A kit forks any day! You could have the best suspension in the world, but if the cockpit isn't set up for you, you just won't vibe with the bike
@@JeffWalker84 that’s great advice and makes sense. I got a 2022 husky tx 300 two stroke a few months back and I’ve been slowly upgrading and customizing..I should look into a guts racing seat. Thanks for responding and you are rad to watch. Keep at it, you will be consistently scoring points in no time!

Can you make a riding position tips and tricks for taller riders. I believe you had done one back in the day but maybe some other things that helped you as a taller rider. Cause im getting alot of back pain and have to kinds lower my ass to much all the time to maintain good aero dynamics

I know you love Honda’s and I do too but man you look so much smoother on a ktm. Throttle control and just railing corners so much smoother. Love this videos keep it up brotha💪🏼
I think some of that can be contributed to the fact that the Honda was a 250 and the KTM a 450. You can be really smooth on a 450 in the sand! But yeah, I've definitely gotten super comfortable on the Orange machines in the last year and a half. Thanks Steve!

@@JeffWalker84 I’ll,just say this Jeff I have watched your pro career for awhile and not about bike bias, but your best results have always come on the Husky or the KTM, when it comes to racing it’s about the best package that can help you win or get results through double motos, not which bike that wins shootouts, I know you love Honda’s but they haven’t served you well as a pro! Just a observation.
The 2022 Honda 250 def looks like a great bike out of the crate. But stick with consistency, changing every year IMO has hurt your progress each year, stay focused if staying pro, it’s what attracts sponsors, it’s what gets results. All the best, love the new house and shop btw, def however get another Honda 250 2t, love to see that build done again and see you get to ride it this time. 🤘
@@jorgejakson829 I’ve never owned either ktm or Yamaha but I look at the results that Yamaha is putting up. But I think Jeff should stick with ktm just cause he’s best result have been this year on his ktm

I had the '19 and 22' 450, you just add the +2mm triple clamp from Xtring and you don't have the front end twitch anymore. My brother have the 22' 250r and did the same and its day n nught better!
I've heard that helps a ton! If I ever made the switch back, that will be first on my upgrade list

Grabbed a gasgas 250 a few months ago and I don’t have any complaints but man these make me want to switch again.
You really can't go wrong these days with the different brands. They're all great!

It's hard to justify switching from KTM when they've just been so dang good to me! Reliable, light, smooth, fast, great handling....but of course there will always be part of me longing for the red bikes. I'll have to wait and see how the engine/clutch is holding up for some of my pro friends who have them before I'd consider the switch

I can never seem to understand how you Never miss a rut and if u do not get a little lose on it. Pros are complicated to look at to learn how to ride cause its like if u guys mentally know u gonna go through something you just go through it
