    I had to pause the video at the very beginning because I felt so strongly to share that as you were describing the book soaring up into the top 100, God tickled me to share a verse describing the blessings that have been showering down on ya'll (exploding UA-cam, gifts galore, your book taking off...and plenty I know we aren't aware of yet!). Along with a few tears at his abundance of love. Proverbs 28:20 - A faithful man will abound with blessings. You guys have been faithful through and through, and He is delighting in blessing y'all!

What a wonderful tool for the millions of children in this country who will never have the opportunity of living on a farm. I can just see the stories of the boys on their hammock, their vegetable garden, the wonder of baby chicks and pigs plus all the vegetables and fruits they enjoy. How many children even know what a ground cherry is?

    So grateful for your thoughts on having peace when things aren’t perfect in the garden. We moved to a new home last fall, and our garden isn’t as perfect as I’d like it to be this year. But growing what we can while finding joy in the process rather than letting frustration creep in is key. This year is definitely more about trial and error, planning beds, and planning for next year. We love watching your channel- thanks for the inspiration!

      @linuxelf 4 роки тому

      @@maryshowalter6910 I've got a pretty small garden. I have 6 8x4'' raised beds. On one of the beds, I have a 3.5' high fence along one side. I have three Kajari plants along that 8' of raised bed, and they are climbing up and along that fence beautifully. They do not appear to be crowding each other out, and are producing quite a lot of melons. Right now I have 3 melons that are within one week of ripening, and at least 6 more younger ones growing. In that same bed, I have a row of Okra growing. Since the okra don't need support, and I train the Kajari to only grow on the fence, they don't interfere with each other at all.

    I live in eastern Tennessee, I grow 25 to 30 heirlooms per year with cattle panels just like you do.... Theirs only one kind I grow that isn't a heirloom, it being sun gold.. As far as just tasting tomatoes standing in the garden their was only one tomato out of 30 that was as good as the sun gold, it was the "Black seaman".. some sites say they are determinate some say they are indeterminate.. They grow fine as a indeterminate to me growing two tops, growing two tops on a seaman does not hurt the size of the tomato, they produce amazing... Just something to throw out there, they are amazingly sweet for a slicing mid to large tomato....

    I'm not a new gardener but I'm going to buy one just to support you! You're such an inspiration & I love how open & honest & transparent you are. You are one of the UA-camrs that inspired me to start a channel myself. (Something I've wanted to do a LONG time but always felt like it wasn't the "perfect time." But I finally did it! I only have 2 videos edited so far- I'm not the best/quickest at editing yet but I'm learning! Thank you for all that you do, thank you for sharing your life with us!

    So Thrilled to hear you made 54th...cant wait to get the book.
    I have a tiny garden, but I just love to see what will grow. This year the weather has been terrible, so I'm letting most go to seed to see what it looks like..
    Carrot have pretty flowers... lol
    Reseeding a couple things to see if I can get anything before frost. I am inspired for next year, thank you for all the tips. ( And I'll have your book)
    Praying for you and your beautiful family ♡♡♡

    Jealous jealous jealous. I am so envious of your garden. Mine has just now started producing. My tomatoes are putting out flowers, my okra is growing strong, I have had about a week of cucumbers. The spinach is all eaten the corn is just standing there. I know my garden will produce in a few. It's just the waiting and drooling is driving me crazy. I am hoping for my first okra fry by maybe Monday. You Rock and Thank you

    I did the exact same thing with hot banana peppers, expected them to be a slightly hotter version than sweet banana peppers and found out the hard way that they are hotter than expected.

      @@5feralkidsandafarm I have Ghost Peppers and Carolina Reapers growing this year, I am eating Jalapeños as my sweet peppers this year. But yeah on a serious note Hot Banana Peppers are not a Mildish or Medium hot, they pack a little sting.

      @@RootsandRefugeFarm Doesn't it feel great when that heat wears off an a positive vibe goes through your body. Sometimes the burn is needed to feel that ultimate relaxing pleasure hot peppers bring.

    We have a small space to grow but we are having a decent gardening season. We've learned a few things that have surprised us (mostly the "what not to do" things) which has made this an amazing learning season! So excited to regroup, better prepare and grow more next year!

    Girl... you are such an inspiration! I feel so inferior and behind in my garden...I want to grow so much more and create a specific space to have my garden in and it's going to be allot of work...I feel defeated before I even begin. But listening to your word's of inspiration gives me such incentive! God bless! 💚

    Thank you Jess for thinking of us international viewers with the book also. Found one shop from the list, that delivers to Finland, and preordered immediately. Our growing season in Finland is somewhat shorter and cooler, but its not going to stop me trying new things. And for that, you are huge inspiration. Love your channel, and have been watching your vlog posts every morning with my breakfast for over a year now.

    Please consider growing a big patch of sweet corn and pumpkins in your back garden, where the squash were. It's so great in fall to have a big harvest of corn to eat off the cob, and pumpkins are so fun to harvest for pies and breads!

  • @rosea830
    @rosea830 4 роки тому +1

    Now that your corn ears have made silks, you should put clothespins on the ends to keep the bugs out. I've gotten a few things from baker creek that were crossed, so not surprised. One of my atomic grape plants is making almost paste-sized tomatoes, some of the polar bear zinnias are pink, but I enjoy a few surprises. Put your next run of potatoes where the sunflowers were to avoid disease. Nice harvest! Maybe more corn where the squash was?
