My question is: If we have a gas fueled tankless system, can we add this in the line at the point of use so we don't have to wait for our gas-fueled water to get to the area? Is there a thermal bypass option so it wouldn't have to be in operation once the big supplied hot water arrives?
Yes, you have described a perfect case use. These electric point of use water heaters are best when they are very near the final point of use. Such as right at a bathroom or locker room or kitchen at her mother-in-law suite etc. You would not need a separate cut off device because this electric heater Will only heat the water to a certain temperature boost and that’s it…. Good luck.
