Oh my - got to this one soooooo late. I'm so super happy for you - the TV thing is going to be a great learning experience. I'm not surprised, though - what you put out every week ... right from the start ... has been top notch almost TV quality if not already TV quality. So was to be expected. i think what i do on youtube won´t work on tv...but my channel will always have main priority!
It may not work on tv your closeup work is amazing the music pacing also amazing you have created a distinct look and feel on you tube which I hope translates in some way to a broader video art form. good luck Laura.

the stickers are looking great.
the questions answers segment is great, I couldn't agree more. blacksmiths used to make their own tools to do the job (my grand father and uncle used to be in the blacksmith-locksmith trade).
Buying a tool is an easy solution, but there is always a way.
sometimes it's not as pretty, sometimes it takes iterations. it's about trial - errors and learning experiences.

You're right, a limited amount of tools isn't a drawback, it makes you more creative. The guys on Reclaimed Audio talked about this a while back.

To add to your comment about not having the tools you need, I find a HUGE part of making is designing things that can be made with what you have available. Don't design something you can't build. This is true all the way up to commercial product design.

Have you perhaps looked at having a sticker printer in the US make and sell them over here to simplify things?
Otherwise, finding a friend here willing to ship them out for you would also be a better plan than one at a time.

Any advice on how to come up with an acceptable level of perfection? maybe something is 70% ok. Do you keep going forward or start over?
that is super hard to say...time is mostly my limiting factor. also perfection is not an absolut factor...it is different for everybody

Man girl you are freighttraing life. Congrats on the tv show [watch Direstas vid on his experience doing that]. Awesome advice on changing up tools, materials ect, I'm writing a song right now that sounded very Beatles like but never sounded right. Hit the distortion...whole new song. Parents do sometimes have a very weird way of teaching life lessons..Boy Named Sue for example. Wish I could help in the sticker situation, all my git cases ect were covered. Sticker are like 1" buttons, can never have enough lol. Far as I'm concerned you were definitely focused and your hair just said "Iv'e been working". Peace.
i know direstas experience with tv was not the best...i feel very good about this gig. also...if i don´t like it-i won´t do it again:)

Hey Laura, stickers...how about PDF download file and we can print out on sticky paper...cut out the middle man and postage! cool on TV gig.
hmmm. that is a good idea but i would like you to have the sticker in this fantastic quality...worst case would be that i have to make an online store where you can buy them for cheap...

Still like your videos. It's refreshing to see a neighbouring maker! I guess we Europeans are just a little bit to 'shy' compared to other countries. (I have been travelling a lot myself, and I can clearly see the differences). BTW, don't underestimate your past! Maybe that's the reason why make such creative work! :) Life works in mysterious ways. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Congratulations Laura! I certainly hope the production team reads your comments and gets an idea of how you are appreciated (and perceived) by your subscribers and supporters. I'm assuming you don't have "final cut" of the series, so I really hope they don't convolute or distort the "Laura Kampf Gestalt" . If I was describing you to a friend, I would use the descriptors; earnest, hard-working, creative, sweet, approachable, unassuming, talented, humble, inspirational and adorable. Don't let them "f" that up! Will this series make its way to the States? BTW -- I *love* "record of the week" -- don't ever lose that segment!
oh wow, thank you! the show is about building and upcycling but it will not be anything that is compareable to what i am doing on youtube. it will be a very "TV storytelling" format. i think it will be a very cool experience but it won´t change what i am doing on youtube-making videos myself and building stuff every week is still my main priority! :)
