Lou Ann pure legend!
What a line - up … it’s great to just watch Denny Freeman, He’s so good. Great song.
Yes indeed, Denny was an incredible musician and a great friend as well. We lost him in April this year, and I really miss him. Austin is a colder and less musical place without him.
Denny he was one of a kind. He told me once the way you tell if someone is cool "their eyes and shoes" he was brilliant and I miss him immensely.
Criminally unrecognized chameleon of a guitar player and a real gentleman to boot.
Denny, Jimmy, Lou Ann, Charley, W.C , that was a good thing going on them days.
@@scottunzicker you are right, how could I forget frosty ! thanks for pointing that out, he was the heartbeat .
Great performance and sound, I admire them every day.
I love the Betty Boop way Lou Ann looks at Will and throws her head back just at the right time. It kills me every time I watch it.
Great energetic take all around, and I love seeing Denny Freeman play here. So concise and cool to the bone. He is missed.
Sound great love this 😊
Lord Jezus what a Hot song.. One of my all time Stones favs done over by Red Hot! Lou Ann Barton..
The original version, written and performed by Barbara Lynn, is the strongest. The Stones were big fans of hers.
What an awesome discovery!!
I remember Will and Charlie hanging out at Antone's when they were just kids , I believe it was their Mom that would bring them in for The Monday Jam Sessions, they were good as kids, Doyle Bramhill Jr would sit in also
Whatta performance ! Beautiful.
The Best version (Rock & Blues) of a fantabulous song, Brilliant beat from the excellent musicians...Well done & THANKS for posting...Superb
Wow what a banging version of this rocker,
What a line up!
This is a great cover. This song is really bluesy and rocks like h*** when performed live.
Lou Ann Absolutely in her prime
Fills by Denny Freeman: tasteful and hip.
Terrific cover of the Barbara Lynn Ozen hit (The Rolling Stones also made the song popular). Barbara Lynn is terrific, also wrote, "You'll Lose A Good Thing;" digging Lou Ann Barton's vocals!
He played at an ATO party we had in San Marcos in 1986
Wow! WC Clark on bass!!
Daaaaamn!
Omg, thank you for posting this! Will's gorgeous!
I love, love, love his voice. ♥
Great version
Like this one alot.
Lou Ann and Will Sexton around 1979 or so....Both are still going strong! Texas twang personified! GREAT
Lou Ann is the best thang going
Excelente
Thank you for checking it out.
Thanks, and through a series of fortunate events I happened upon a recording of the original show. I've seen other posts from the same, but not this and got permission to post it. "All the best to you."
So glad you did, this is amazing! So good to see my friends up there on that stage( though I didn't meet them till a couple or few years later, but this show was part of the reason I wanted to meet them!). The guitars are great and WC on bass and Frosty on drums is a cool rhythm section.
I shared a version of this with a high school buddy/bandmate of Denny's, and he sent me this one back. Even better!
What other Austin/ Freeman stuff do you have? I'm looking at doing an archive and history on my friend Denny and am interested in source material.
Lui est beau et elle a du "chien" ! Superbe interprétation.
Fantastico!
Denny Freeman!
Recién nos escucho son impresionantes desde argentina
Too many handsome guitar players up there! Denny Freeman, Jimmie Vaughan, Will Sexton, and W.C.
perfect
Very nice job with a really nice song! I like the one the Rolling Stones did in '64 better, but this was very good!
The original version, written and performed by Barbara Lynn, is the strongest. The Stones got it from her.
The Stones live version on Ready Steady Go is better than the recording. But this version is even better. Bl's original was soul. This is r&r blues.
WOW!!!
The early Stones brought me here. Glad I arrived.
I remember when he played in bars in San Marcos. TX. People often said he was as talented or possibly more talented than Charlie. I can see why.
Owhh baby owhh baby ,,, awwww
Very nice, I was always hoping that her top would fall down, but it didnt.
The Rolling Stones performed this too, in 1964.
The original by Barbara Lynn, who also wrote the song, is the strongest version.
The Stones didn’t steal it, they covered it and gave full credit to Barbara Lynn. She will have earned more in royalties from their version than her own.
❤❤❤
Здорово 👍
Thought he was gonna be big. In Thelma and Louise. Angela streli fabulous as ever! And jv in back! Gawd living in Austin was good!
Good version
What a woman....
What can I say, really hip
Is that Jimmy Ray on rythym?.He gets it. Everthing swings up a notch when he plays and I'm dammned if I know why
That’s Jimmie Lee , Stevie Ray’s Big Brother Vaughan That Is Indeed on Rhythm , Denny Freeman & Will Sexton On Leads , Lou Ann Barton On Godmother Vocals , W .C. Clark On Bass & Frosty On Drums & Will Is Not Even 18 At The Time Of This Recording On The Old Austin City Limits Studio 6 On 26th & Guadalupe At The University Of Texas Circa 1979 ?
This was the ACL Tribute to W.C. Clark.
He’s still hot as all getout. And he is the best guitar player in Memphis. He’s married now, to a rock goddess.
Lou Ann was a cutie.
Saw Will Sexton on Sun Studio Sessions and had to hear more!
+Cherel Bryant I don't get on here to often. Hope the audio was okay for you. Take care & thank you.
Damn!! I sure do miss the real Austin this video so aptly represents!! Nuevo Austin is just any other big Texas City with different geography. A play ground for the corporate clones. Austin sold its soul for a jelly roll. So sad.
I’ve always been a Stones fan but this version is better then theirs, btw I’m pretty sure Lou Ann has had a few to many - just looking at her mannerisms and coming off stage - yep she’s awesome... but pissed
Where did you find this? Will told me about this show but we could never find any footage of it! Thanks for posting it up.
AUSTIN CITY LIMITS WITH ALL THE CRIME
Used to be? !!! 😡🤪
Will and Charlie are forever cute!!
I love this. Will and Lou Ann are fabulous. Hey what year was this?
1989. This is part of the Austin City Limits show that was W.C. Clark's 50th birthday party. The other part of it was Stevie Ray Vaughan's second and final performance on ACL. The show was originally broadcast the week Stevie was killed in 1990, in a helicopter crash.
Old Stones song 64
I'll stick with the stones version thank you
Did I hear thats our Godson thats so Cool.
He reminds me of Charlie in this video. Will used to be kinda cute!!!
Party, wer steigt ein........Austin Live.....?
Muyn
Is anyone hotter than Lou Ann?
6 girls on stage
I'm not even gay and he's a better looking chick than she is! 😍🥒
Have a laugh, just look at these lot fucking up Barbara Lynn’s original song, knowing America, I’m pretty sure they think that it’s a Rolling Stones song hahahaha!!! todays generation what the hell do they really know.
Nothing new here.
it Sucks
Every second of this performance is perfect! Down to Lou Ann's final remark. I just love this!
