So, 3 months before feb 1, so Nov 1, 2023 would be a good time to discuss the application with your agent. You have 3 months before you turn 65, the month you turn 65, and then 3 months afterwards. This ensures you don't pay any penalty for applying late. It does take some time, so don't wait until the last minute.
If you meant Social Security, you can apply any time you want, since you are already over 62.
My experience is signing up for Plan B..I did the mail in very short application..less than 2 weeks..I was notified I had Plan B..then immediately got a supplement plan..I knew what I wanted & needed NO EXPLANATION or questions answered. So that phonecall was about 30 minutes.
Easy peasy

There were also 15 million out of work and not paying into SS

If social security is increasing, why do they keep taking it away from me? I’m 67 and they are telling me I owe them 11,000$. Maybe address this.
Is it SS or SSI ?
@@Satjr35031 SS. Very confusing. I’m going tomorrow to ask about it again.

a 3% increase is more than I ever got in an annual pay raise, so, good for the government.
Thanks for sharing.

Some cola we get this yr...billions to Ukraine pennies to old folks and disabled...not enough to pay streaming or a weeks food
My social security did not go up that much
So does it mean that my amount when I retire in 6 years will go up each year when the cola rises?
I've been trying to find out that same answer as well.
Yes. Your projected payment will increase even when you are not drawing yet.
You will get any Increase by way of the Bend Points

So in.other words the increase in Medicare will eat up the raise.
2024 is a very long time
$59 more if we lucky to get all that
Colas mean nothing to us at the bottom of the social security care this is always a percentage and it doesn't do us a damn bit of good because there is never enough to make ends meet
Im afraid that this year the forth quarter will be very big ,but not applicable 😮
Fine then they'll say they overpaid
Would the american retirees living abroad get the same cola adjustment?
