I hope The Beast is more like Dying Light 1 and less like Dying Light 2. I didn't mind Dying Light 2 but 1 is just so good, and actually felt fun to explore.

its absolutely godly how dying light focused the main game around a certain aspect, that being parkour, absolutely mastering it, then completely removed that in the following and still made a pretty good DLC with the buggy!
The VA from Roger Craig Smith as Kyle Crane is some of the best VA I’ve best I’ve ever heard in gaming. His delivery when angry or confused is so funny and raw it’s incredible. That scene where he kills Rahim or is shocked by the coldness of the GRE are so funny and emotional
What shocks me is that playing this on a PS5 or Series X in Balanced Mode which is 1440p/60fps, it feels like a game released last year not a decade ago. It was so far ahead of the curve many others still haven't caught up.
Currently playing it on PC maxed out at 1920x1080 (I removed DoF and Motionblur though of course, my eyes already naturally blur and have dof) and yea, besides a few slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY muddy textures, I could easily convince my 15 year old brother that dying light 1 came out only a couple years ago. (He has a “ew I don’t like old games” mentality as if a game from 2014 is “old”)
The main reason why people dont quit dying light early and never think this game is easy (we are talking about majority not everyone), is that Techland FORCED players to have a taste of ABSOLUTE HORROR in the early missions! you HAVE to collect air drops at night which you will get chased and also the mission that you have to take down a bolter is also worth mentioning here ...
Eh, the fact that the volatiles just f-off the moment you reach a camp, and there's a ton of them all over, makes running from them a non issue very quickly. I find it hard to suspend my disbelief that a safe zone of a chainlink fence and a uvlight is enough to keep them out...

And the outbreak just happened they don't have enough information to rely on that thing and there are virals who don't get affected by uv lights but can still climb, but overall as I played it through it increased the intensity
The Following's ending really got me. I expected a happy jaunt through the countryside and getting some help. Not Crane fighting a Volatile-led cult and becoming one in the end. It freaking shook me more times than knowing Fatin and his equally moronic brother managed to live.

You can change head bobbing reduction and turn it off in the second game. I always have it set to the lowest because I love head bobbing in games like that. The head bobbing animation was actually better at launch but they changed it for whatever reason and it's not as good anymore but better than just a flat straight screen like literally every youtuber who plays the game has
Its in the title dying light. Those biters are technically dead since they can still pain and scream from it. They eventually wait for the light to die (sunset) so the harran virus within them thrive in the darkness.
It’s the open world mechanic, the ragdoll, the slight horror aspect that makes DL1 so fun ; and even when you’re already late game; it still proves to be a challenge . It never loses its touch, from the first day you play it and I got a man crush on crane 😊
Dying Light 1 is one of the first 2 games (the other being Evolve) I got back in the PS4 that my Dad bought. It was so memorable and I'm thankful that he introduced me to this wonderful masterpiece

2 is pretty mid , gameplay is mostly an improvement from the first game (other than physics system and ragdolls) but the story is so long and bloated and unnecessary. Dying light the beast seems like it's gonna be the best of both worlds tbh
Correction: DL2 *was* shit, but constant updates have drastically improved the game's atmosphere and gameplay, with minor yet necessary revisions to the story to make it flow well. Gut Feeling made the combat FAR more satisfying, Nightmare fixed the artstyle, and there's still THREE YEARS left of updates to improve the game.
I remember first playing the game. I wasted a full summer to max out to level 300 on kyle. (I just ran the stuff turtle everyday for like 2 hours return to the tower switched to nightmare difficulty and went to night for a 4X multiplier on the levels. So fun. I wont be doing that again.
As far as I understand, money still has value because the infection is just in Harran, ideally, they could be evac'd out or the situation could be dealt with, it's all very new
i only now completed the base game so idk if theres an answer to it in the dlc but i still dont really know like how volatiles well do their thing becasue they feel very much different from all the other mutated zombies it doesnt feel like its the same virus, and along that same line how do people even turn into volatiles theres clearly a fuck load of them but i dont see anyone getting bitten by them being like on no im gonna turn into a volatile, so is it just another mutation thing like the rest of the zombies with the same virus or are they a whole another thing entierly?
Techland revealed that when a person gets bit they become a Viral, if that Viral is exposed to sunlight for too long they degrade into a Biter but if that Viral hides in darkness they evolve into a Volatile and if that Volatile is exposed to chemicals they become one of the different types of special infected like Goons, Demolishers, etc.
being forced to do certain things at night makes this game feel nice you dont feel like you get treated as a baby where you can get away with just playing at day becasue the walking scabs are scary and make me shit my pants when i miss 1 jump.

Has anyone else noticed zombie ai breaking it self in dl for example jamming an zombie into a tight space they get up without being shoved out then die or survive impossible falls like bro I just threw you off a 6 story building and watched you land on your head die already or that rarely demolishers forget how to throw boulders even when your out of there melee range

I strongly believe if they remastered dying light 1s possibilities of combos just like they have in dying light 2, they could revive their old game aswel which would be welcomed by many old ytbrs, theyll play the remaster and the videos will be free marketing 🤷♂️

honestly i wish i cared more about the characters but i just don't which makes it feel even worse when kyle acts with so much emotion towards stuf happening its like ok? i dont really care but i guess its kinda sad, honestly i think by far the best characters are side quest one my facorite being that crazy ass witch doctor women becasue wanky potions and the 2 brothers who treat me like im an actual different speicies.
