So very true that this group is militant and fascist. The irony is that they can’t see how their own behaviour mirrors the very thing that they claim to be against.
The problem is, they are cheapening the value of your qualification. Employers will likely soon avoid where possible graduates from infamous universities. Essex has stood up to this crap. In five years will an Essex graduate be a better bet than an Oxbridge graduate if you want to avoid insane staff activism? Maybe so...

Dr Briggs is right - if you can't stand against someone opposing your views with logical argument, you inherently must now you're wrong. (edit: where free speech is enshrined)
You are an Oxford student who uses the cheap buzzword 'woke'? Oxford is supposed to be one of the top two Universities in the world and you are using social media speak. That doesn't say a lot for the value of the education you are supposedly receiving (that is if you actually are at OU, which I strongly doubt)

I truly feel sorry for this student. When she enters the real world, her posturing, know it all attitude and smugness will have her crying for when she was a full time student.

It needs to stop so we can get back to normal.
Giving her the air time is also the problem. On the one hand we see the ridiculous arguments she attempts to make. Yet why bother accommodating these social justice activists who are against democracy and free speech.
Imagine being so 'vulnerable' that you can't even bear someone with a different opinion to be in the building. I'm blown away by how desperate young people are to be victims! Where's the honour in that?!
I think the question you want to ask is "Why are they feeling like victims?". Because at the end of the day even if the problems of this new generation that i see in front of me, are different from other generations' , it doesn't mean they are not problems. But a lot from the LGBTQ+ society need to ask that question to themselves, as in all the infinite societies that are out there. I support better pshycological healthcare to be the answer to many of our problems. To muster the courage to be vunerable to a stranger initially.
But I have to add that Piers deals with those people too cruelly in the end, I guess for the numbers. Most of the people he faces need guidance, not humiliation at some points. At some point he can ease up when the other side, because he reaches them beyond the limit of civilized manners.

In all seriousness, yes, we do. 25 would be a good age, it's when the human brain is fully grown/developed, and is also around the age when I've noticed people become much more mature.
I agree with the basic point. The problem is it opens a can of worms. Removing the right to vote from younger people also means it would only be fair to remove their mandate to pay tax.

Totally agree with the parenting thing you say. But think entitlement and perhaps too little exposure to, and learning that she can survive the disappointment of 'not ALLWAYS being right' - is maybe a more helpful description than pathologising the girl.
(Piers states a fact about men dominating women's sport)
Oxford student: "that's a boring point"
(Piers states objective reality once more proving his point)
Oxford student "that's not happening" (offers nothing to prove that it's not)
And that is everything you need to know about these gender/trans activists. They think they are carrying out the new Civil Rights Movement, but fail to realize there is a HUGE difference between white cops sicking german shepherds on black kids simply trying to go to school, and attempting to force everyone who doesn't share your world views that men and women are just "social constructs" and everyone who disagrees is a bigot.
It seemed like it would be a good debate but, as usual, Piers spent the whole time interrupting everyone. Unwatchable.
Again, Piers is on fire, this year. He's the same outspoken Piers, but *listens* more. It's a pleasure to consume his stellar interviews.
Listens more ? He interrupts as usually to confuse the guests and jump from one question to another .
@@xplaybwoix I said that he listens more, not that he always listens. And of course he interrupts. That's actually part of his charm. Gotta have some combat in a good debate, imo.

This girl is what is wrong with internalised misogyny. Also, she lied KS was driven out of her job!!!
The thing about these kinds of topics is that, if you criticize just a little bit, then you're automatically labeled as every bad thing in existence.
It's too bad. It destroys every chance of having an honest conversation.
ya labeled as "hateful" . such a strong mislabeling and poor choice of words
Students should not be dictating who can speak and who can't and they shouldn't have the power to get lectures fired. They are there to learn not dictate.
And it’s crazy how they’re so eager and quick to push people out because of free speech but when it comes to what students actually need like better counseling, better financial support, or stopping bullying they just brush it off.
Did she just deny the fact that trans athletes are increasingly impinging on fairness in women's sport? Does this person live in an alternate universe? 🤔
Yes.
She demand people to use they/them when talking about her, of course she lives in an alternate universe.

@@PaulGirdlestone it's misogynistic to think women only serve to one traditional purpose (the carer, the wife, the mother), to think women who voluntarily choose to not have children are being selfish or to think a woman is not entitled to her own bodily autonomy. My grandpa used to say that it was pretty hard to learn something you think you already know. And unfortunately, young people seem to know everything!

What a time to be alive.

Exactly, and she'd be in HR and she'd transform the workplace within a year to be more "inclusive". Profits would go down and people would lose jobs, but we'd have "equity". LOL. Love your comment and you're completely right. I'm so glad I will have, barring some catastrophe, maybe fifteen years to go in this upside down world.
She has plural pronouns, so her confusion is evident.
Look at that student in her leafy privilege.
No sane employer would take on someone who puts their pronouns on their CV.
It is a lot easier to win an argument if you don't let your opponent to the event.
As simple as that.
Sooooo basically all of Piers Morgan's interviews since time began?
@@joelevans638 How is an interview "not letting your opponent to the event"? He LITERALLY had his opponent on the show and allowed her to speak several times. He did cut her off once she made her point and he made his because he has time limitations and his audience doesn't want/need to hear her repeat herself and go into her propaganda speeches. The difference is she is trying to ban her opponent from speaking because she doesn't want anyone to hear any opinion but her own. If you can't see the difference here...
@@smgdfcmfah broski, do you really think talkTV is interested in having a nuanced discussion about this issue, or any issue.. Or is it just Piers asks a poor fall-guy some loaded questions, interrupts them after they're given 17 seconds screen time and then goes to his esteemed panel to shout in an echo chamber together and pat themselves on the back.
They're basically doing exactly what they're accusing the Oxford SU of doing - except the SU actually unanimously voted democratically to not want to hear Kathleen's nonsense on their campus, as is their right.
How democratic is Murdoch Medias pumped out propaganda to the masses to keep us all thick? Not a lot of money to promote the ideals of the progressive trans movement is there, but plenty shouting the opposite!
You’ve summarised it very nicely.
These people are incapable of answer the question they're actually asked. They're as bad, if not worse than politicians in that regard.
As was said during the discussion, that's just a sign of someone knowing their position is indefensible.
More people need to stand up to these children.
Perhaps the universities should reject students who don't support the purposes of universities?

I’m 30 and couldn’t imagine watching myself back raising my silly opinions when I was 21. Cringe. Changed my mind as I got older.
University is a safe space, very similar to school where people think they know best until they are thrusted in the real world.
These students who are in these societies will get a rude awakening when they graduate
I think you give her too much credit. I think she's going to remain an extremist with no grip on reality for life (like Peter Tatchell).

As an LGB person I literally do not understand why they can't see the logic.. Why they can't understand that their FEELINGS aren't everyone else's issue!

Dr Michael Briggs gives me hope that it is possible for the voice of reason to be heard in Universities. Debating different points of views cannot be outlawed!
I don't believe that all students think like her but the sane one cannot speak up, they would be bullied with death threats. That is what I find even more worrying 😮
It is true, I'm at Oxford and the Union committee (who are also students) have received some pretty nasty abuse. Some were also saying they would try and report anyone who signed the open letter calling for the debate to go ahead.
Riz is quite right to say the students can exercise their free speech too. What they don't seem to understand is one group of students doesn't have the right to prohibit any other from hearing arguments. That's censorship and it's not their place
Yeah not real bright on that point, that’s a gaping hole in reasoning.
