- Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by podcast host and comedian Konstantin Kisin, Oxford University student and trans rights activist Riz Possnett and professor of sociology at Oxford University Dr. Michael Briggs to debate the row over Oxford students banning gender-critical academic Kathleen Stock.
Piers and Riz debate whether students protesting against a speaker is exercising free speech or restrainingit. Piers asks Riz what it is Kathleen has directly said that deems her unsuitable for speaking and Riz says that most of what she stands for disregards trans rights, which she finds offensive.
Konstantin wonders how these topics will come to a conclusion if we do not have extended dialogue and the refusal to debate makes transgenderism and other topics seem more like a faith that is immune from criticism.

Also an Oxford student here and Riz DOES NOT speak on behalf of the majority of the student body. I’m absolutely over people like Riz making the rest of us look precious and woke! So very true that this group is militant and fascist. The irony is that they can’t see how their own behaviour mirrors the very thing that they claim to be against.
The problem is, they are cheapening the value of your qualification. Employers will likely soon avoid where possible graduates from infamous universities. Essex has stood up to this crap. In five years will an Essex graduate be a better bet than an Oxbridge graduate if you want to avoid insane staff activism? Maybe so...

You are an Oxford student who uses the cheap buzzword 'woke'? Oxford is supposed to be one of the top two Universities in the world and you are using social media speak. Kathleen Stock said: “I want trans people protected from violence and discrimination.” She insisted she was not anti-trans despite what her critics said. In her address, Stock said it was “not fair on females” to share spaces such as changing rooms and bathrooms with trans women because of the potential threat of violence.
Yes this point about the possibility of violence coming from trans people is already happening. In the US a woman ordering at a coffee shop was shouted at because she referred to the person as a lady and was called transphobic. The customer denied this but she was asked to leave the shop. The trans person then proceed to lift her up ,carrying her to the entrance and shove her onto the street. The customer was a senior lady. No one should be treated this way. The trans person was fired from the job but this poor senior lady still can’t figure out why it happened to her.
I truly feel sorry for this student. When she enters the real world, her posturing, know it all attitude and smugness will have her crying for when she was a full time student.
Unfortunately she will fall into a career as a full time activist in a diversity and inclusion management role, and the ordinary workforce will suffer her policies while she earns a huge wage

5 years ago I was laughing at the fact they'd have a hard time in the real world, today I feel sorry for them. Exercising free speech means speaking. It does not mean preventing other people from speaking. What kind of education are these kids getting when they think that "exercising their free speech" involves stopping others from speaking?

1 If the meaning is "I hate this idea, phrase, ideology, religious or societal element", this is like 95% of the discussion, for the simple reason that when I love your idea the discussion ends (in agreement).
2 If the meaning is "I hate this demographic", I would let these kind of haters speak as well, but this is irrelevant because most of the time the "hate" expressed is not of this kind. Unless you continually project motives onto others ' words.

I think the question you want to ask is "Why are they feeling like victims?". Because at the end of the day even if the problems of this new generation that i see in front of me, are different from other generations' , it doesn't mean they are not problems. But a lot from the LGBTQ+ society need to ask that question to themselves, as in all the infinite societies that are out there. I support better pshycological healthcare to be the answer to many of our problems. To muster the courage to be vunerable to a stranger initially.
But I have to add that Piers deals with those people too cruelly in the end, I guess for the numbers. Most of the people he faces need guidance, not humiliation at some points. At some point he can ease up when the other side, because he reaches them beyond the limit of civilized manners.

There was a time when Oxford students had an above average grasp of the English language and were able to communicate effectively without coming across as uninformed, muddled and unreasonable. All traits that I would not expect from a such a highly respected university.

Apparently the average IQ of an Oxford student is 100. So, about the same as the average IQ in the UK. I was surprised by this, as I would expect a far greater than average IQ, at least at 120.

Yeah, in particular she's barely able to string a few words together into a coherent sentence. She talks about free speech but doesn't really have the speech part down. I notice the same effect with Truss and Braverman, a modern trend where Oxbridge students - supposedly the elite of the elite - are stunningly underwhelming and incapable irrespective of their particular views or opinions. They're just hapless grinning and gurning buffoons. This contrast was even more striking when Kathleen Stock did her talk and she spoke eloquently and calmly with views that were so moderate you really have to pity the people that kicked up a fuss.

But she cannot think in the rigorous methodical way that one would expect at such a university of high and historical repute. If we really want change, we need to challenge what and how they are teaching young people in our schools. I believe being tolerant of all peoples is important, but when it is being glamorized and pushed on developing minds by adults who are supposed to be trustworthy role-models, that's where I become very uncomfortable.

I have read Kathleen Stock's book. It's a thorough piece of work that deserves debate not cancelling. I have also met Kathleen Stock who has struck me as a polite thoughtful and modest person. Listening to the Oxford student it appears that she has a glib social media driven image of Kathleen and an enormous sense of smug 'virtue' driven entitlement to dictate to the rest of us.

I'm a student and I'd like to hear Kathleen Stock speak. If I said that in my uni I'd get shouted down. We need the staff and administration to make sure free speech and open debate is allowed.

It is true, I'm at Oxford and the Union committee (who are also students) have received some pretty nasty abuse. Some were also saying they would try and report anyone who signed the open letter calling for the debate to go ahead.
If a man forces his opinions on somebody it is considered toxic masculinity, however, when a trans woman does this it's not.
With any luck this person and all like her will grow up and feel terribly embarrassed at how ridiculous they were in their youth.

Totally agree with the parenting thing you say. But think entitlement and perhaps too little exposure to, and learning that she can survive the disappointment of 'not ALLWAYS being right' - is maybe a more helpful description than pathologising the girl.
Students should not be dictating who can speak and who can't and they shouldn't have the power to get lectures fired. They are there to learn not dictate.
And it’s crazy how they’re so eager and quick to push people out because of free speech but when it comes to what students actually need like better counseling, better financial support, or stopping bullying they just brush it off.
