This is consistent with many Arsenal fan's mindset. They have a completely unique take on what they want from their team. personally speaking as a united fan, i think the FA cup has made up for the rest of the season, in the sense that it's how i feel right now. The fact we get europa next year. Kicked chelsea into the conference league and kicked newcastle out entirely. It's effectively a 5th place finish in the league (europa) as well as winning the FA cup. Like in terms of how the season went, yeah it went horribly but somehow we ended up in a pretty good spot at the end of it.
Any team that finishes 2nd 3rd or 4th and wins a domestic cup has had a better season than other top 4 qualifiers. Its thats simple. Finishing 8th and winning a cup like us is not a better season than pushing for the title all the way.

As an Arsenal fan, I’d love to go back to being 8th and winning FA cup. It’s not like we’ve been there before. Or like we’ve one the FA our fair share of times…
Players don't sign for you because you won the cup, they come to you if you are in the CL and challenging. Arsenal are so far ahead of us right now. You have to be delusional to think United had a better season.
Talking down on FA and League cup wins when they're the only trophies Arsenal have won in 20 years is so stupid, success isn't linear in football, Arsenal could be struggling for top 4 next season or completely out of it, couple injuries here and there to Saliba, Rice, Saka etc
Exactly injuries to key players can derail a season. We saw it with Liverpool in 22/23 season and United in 23/24 season. It's funny how arsenal fans are so sure they will challenge again next season.
Of course Liverpool had a better season than Arsenal. They both qualified for the champions league, and Liverpool walked away with a league cup on top of it.
I have a very simple question to Arsenal fans. Suppose Arteta stays at Arsenal for 10 years and finish 2nd every season without domestic trophy while ETH stays at Man Utd for 10 years and wins FA cup every year while finishing 10th which position would rather want your team to be in.
I swear I saw AFTV fans saying that Arteta has to win a trophy this year if they don’t win the Prem. That he can’t sacrifice all the other trophies for the league and then not win it. Now they happy with no trophies but putting in a challenge. Want to talk bout Klopp send off, Robbie has made his empire from how they sent off Wenger, allow it man
carabao cup winner is only worth 100k, AGT is crazy to think that is a major trophy. the community shield is actually worth more money and no one is mentioning it.
Robbie difference is Liverpool fans aren’t going around telling the world about how great their season was where as Arsenal fans are, and you won NOTHING!!! Liverpool fans are actually annoyed the last 2 months they dropped away and Liverpool still won a damn trophy!
Put it like this honestly Robbie you give HGT such a hard time. Liverpool is a more successful club than Arsenal way more successful hold that brother. Put it like this in the last five years Liverpool won more trophy then Arsenal bro win something stop talking about Liverpool, arsenal got a far away to go to catch up on Liverpool real what we talking bout like real. Liverpool is the most successful club in England bro. Chill out 😂😂😂
Arsenal win the FA cup in their worst season as well but nobody tell them that they had a better season, suddenly the worst united won the trophy and they had a better season
Robbie saying to Abbi ‘you can’t talk about trophies’ when he is using ‘not winning trophies’ as a reason as to why they’ve had a better season than Liverpool and united. Make it make sense standards are in the gutter this guy is embarrassing
As a historically successful club, Manchester United fans would usually have high expectations. An FA Cup alone might not meet those expectations. The disappointment of finishing 8th in the league amplifies the significance of their FA Cup win. Arsenal fans appreciate consistent league performances, but they also crave trophies. Missing out on the FA Cup might be frustrating for them. Context matters as well. Arsenal’s expectations differ from those of Manchester United. Going into this season, Man utd's target would definitely be minimum to finish top 4 off the back of last season's 3rd, yet they came 8th. Man utd's minimum expectation would generally be to make the round of 16 of the UCL regardless of the group they're drawn in. Not only did they crash out in the group stages, but they also finished the bottom of the group. Bear in mind the quality of oppositions they were up against relative to their own team. The league cup, though many may not see this being important or rather their not being any sort of expectations at all in this cup based on the quality of teams put out. Now compare all that I said to Arsenal's. Arsenal challenged last year, and the minimum they are expected to do is challenge for the league, which they did and came 2nd. Their FA cup run was way below par getting knocked out in the 3rd round despite their expectation being to make a deep run (semi). In the UCL, they would be required to qualify from their group stage and make a deep run in the competition. They made a quarter final for the first time in 14 years. Overall despite utd winning a trophy when you apply context utd has absolutely not have a better season than arsenal. That's like saying Wigan having a better season than everyone in the league who did not win a trophy despite getting relegated. That's like saying chelsea had a better season than everyone who did not win a trophy despite finishing 8th in 2012 but winning the UCL. West ham won the conference league but finished 15th last season. Did they have a better season than everyone who did not ? Trophies are the primary goal but not the only criteria to measure a successful season relative to another. Utd literally also finished TWENTY-NINE points behind arsenal... wow
Winning the FA cup is tougher than winning the champions league trophy. Any team can finish 2nd in the premier league. Only the best can win the FA cup. That's why we MU fans says city's premier league trophy is nothing compared to the FA cup. Next season we're going to be treble winners again. Go MU!
Arteta two seasons finished 8th consecutively amd even his fa cup trophy wasn't entirely his as he inherited it from Emery. ETH led united to champions league in the first season and won two trophies. Lets not kid around who is the more successful manager regardless if you're arsenal fan or not.
When Arsenal finished 8th and won the FA Cup in the 19/20 season, not a single fan said they had a better season than City who finished 2nd behind Liverpool. Even Arsenal fans themselves didn't think they had a better season. Instead we got cooked by "not being ambitious enough" to fight for the title. No one is saying Utd had a better season than Villa either. The Arsenal hate is real I'm telling you.
Love that Robbie is trying to justify finishing 2nd in the PL is better than winning a trophy, but then jumps on Abby cause Spurs haven't won a trophy....make it make sense 🤣
We've been in the same situation before, I remember how insignificant arteta's fa win became eventually, it took another few years of hell to get to where we are today. United have no idea the pain they're about to feel if they don't address their league form.
MUFC; AFC had a fantastic season in terms of winning games & coming second. You may repeat this every season, Wenger achieved this & the fans were unhappy because it’s all about Trophies 🏆
So how come they don't talk about the Community Shield which is on the same level as the Carabao Cup. They are both considered minor cups. Premier League and FA Cup are considered major trophy. Stop disrespecting the Shield. In any other European Country the super cup is a huge trophy
Abbie so right. Robbie rips on spurs for not winning trophies and says that’s how you measure success. Liverpool and united win a trophy and somehow they haven’t had a better season?
This is why persons don’t like arsenal fans We United fans are happy we won a trophy It matters now and it will still do 10 yrs from now and it won’t matter that Arsenal finish 2nd. Yes we would have like to finish in top 4 and win a trophy but if u ask me or any other United fan Finish 8th and win fa cup or finish 2nd n win nothing….we would prefer this with how our team is at the moment
Robbie goes from shaming United with "if that's what you wanna celebrate" talking about the 2023 League Cup, and in the same breath uses the Comminity Shield as a talking point as to how they had a more successful season than Spurs.
The question is - would United fans trade their FA CUp victory for Arsenal's second place finish (and Vica Versa)? I'm sure there would be a lot of different opinions, but I'd love to see what the majority say.
Why is there a debate though? We clearly think finishing second is better than finishing 8th and they think that the FA cup makes their season a success while we think its just paper over the cracks. They can keep their manager and their players and we will keep ours. Will that FA cup help them in any way? Will playing in the Europa League attract the big players? I am honestly happy that United won the FA cup for 2 reasons. I didn't want City to get a double and because this will mean that ETH will stay at United. The FA cup is a weird one for Arsenal, Wenger overstayed for about 7 years with his FA cups papering over the cracks. I really hope this happens to united as well. It also shows by the way something extremely important that i realized lately. Wenger is a genius and that everyone is an Arsenal hater. When Wenger was finishing in the top 4 every year without fail, they called it the top 4 trophy, now United Chelsea and Tottenham and Liverpool for many years were begging to get into the top 4. When Wenger was winning FA cups everyone was saying its just the FA cup and we hope Wenger stays for 100 years. Now the shoe is on the other foot and the people that were previously "laughing" at Wenger are not literally begging to be like Wengers Arsenal. This is true for United Chelsea and Tottenham and it was true for Liverpool for multiple years.
It’s so simple. In 5-10 years time barely anyone will remember who finished second this season. Winning the FA cup is noted down in history forever. Coming from a Chelsea fan, man united had a better season. Yes, Arsenal were very good this season and last season but if Arteta doesn’t win any trophies while he’s got them playing this well it will all be for nothing
Liverpool did have a better season than Arsenal they got a champions league place and won a trophy! And Yes! Liverpool did bottle the league and so did Arsenal, it was all in their hands and they lost to Villa at home with only a handful of games left! How can you say thats not bottling it? This is consistent with many Arsenal fan's mindset. They have a completely unique take on what they want from their team.
All of them I have discussed it with have prefered to have won just a PL title going undefeated all season than to win it losing one game but also winning the CL the same season.
Thinking a stat (albeit a good one) is more significant than being champions of Europe is absurd to me, I cant even remember what year they did it, but I know Arsenal did the double in 1971, 1998 and 2002. But each to their own, I suppose.
Winning as many trophies as possible isn't as important to them as it is to supporters of all other teams.
I mean as an arsenal fan, it is true. Arteta's first season was like this season for man utd. It's a good season but I don't think I would swap it.

How they letting Carlton talk like his team is better is crazy

Robbie more sodium in him than creatine 😂
Nobody remembers 2nd place. Atleast a trophy is counted.
The world remember the teams who win trophies, not the teams who played well but come 2nd
Winning a trophy and not qualifying for Champions League is a bigger achievement than finishing 2 or 3rd in the league.
Of course Liverpool had a better season than Arsenal.
They both qualified for the champions league, and Liverpool walked away with a league cup on top of it.
Robbies argument is as stable as that table
I have a very simple question to Arsenal fans. Suppose Arteta stays at Arsenal for 10 years and finish 2nd every season without domestic trophy while ETH stays at Man Utd for 10 years and wins FA cup every year while finishing 10th which position would rather want your team to be in.
I swear I saw AFTV fans saying that Arteta has to win a trophy this year if they don’t win the Prem. That he can’t sacrifice all the other trophies for the league and then not win it. Now they happy with no trophies but putting in a challenge. Want to talk bout Klopp send off, Robbie has made his empire from how they sent off Wenger, allow it man
Couldn’t agree more. As an Arsenal fan, Robbie is a clown

When spurs didn't win anything under Pochettino, he said trophies matter and celebrated FA cups during that period. Robbie is so weird at times.
A better season? No. That's stupid talk. A more successful season? Yes. Context is important.
Arsenal win the FA cup in their worst season as well but nobody tell them that they had a better season, suddenly the worst united won the trophy and they had a better season

This discussion just shows how low the standards are for the so called Top 6 teams 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Utd literally also finished TWENTY-NINE points behind arsenal... wow
Since they’re on the topic of finishing second, Arsenal has finished second in the league on 10 occasions, Liverpool with 12 and United with 15
And this is where "banter" culture gets us.
No one is happy with their season/team. Great job.
Arguing with the same point is just boring as. “But they won a trophy” we heard you mate
Robbie always waffling when it comes to this convo.
Winning the FA cup is tougher than winning the champions league trophy. Any team can finish 2nd in the premier league. Only the best can win the FA cup. That's why we MU fans says city's premier league trophy is nothing compared to the FA cup. Next season we're going to be treble winners again. Go MU!
MUFC; History only records the Trophy Winners.
Arteta two seasons finished 8th consecutively amd even his fa cup trophy wasn't entirely his as he inherited it from Emery. ETH led united to champions league in the first season and won two trophies. Lets not kid around who is the more successful manager regardless if you're arsenal fan or not.
Robbie came back to catch his missing Ls 😂

When Arsenal finished 8th and won the FA Cup in the 19/20 season, not a single fan said they had a better season than City who finished 2nd behind Liverpool.
Robbie is a master on how to chat sh!t
So how come they don't talk about the Community Shield which is on the same level as the Carabao Cup. They are both considered minor cups. Premier League and FA Cup are considered major trophy. Stop disrespecting the Shield. In any other European Country the super cup is a huge trophy
Isn't the biggest difference Utd won against City while Arsenal were playing Hull City... feels like the whole point is moot with that.
Nobody remembers or cares about who finishes 2nd in the league, success in football is judged on trophies.
So what you are saying is that Wigan & Leicester are bigger clubs than Spurs?
I agree! 🤣

It matters now and it will still do 10 yrs from now and it won’t matter that Arsenal finish 2nd.
Yes we would have like to finish in top 4 and win a trophy but if u ask me or any other United fan
Finish 8th and win fa cup or finish 2nd n win nothing….we would prefer this with how our team is at the moment
And they are firing their coach?
It’s so simple. In 5-10 years time barely anyone will remember who finished second this season. Winning the FA cup is noted down in history forever. Coming from a Chelsea fan, man united had a better season. Yes, Arsenal were very good this season and last season but if Arteta doesn’t win any trophies while he’s got them playing this well it will all be for nothing

Robbie having a go at Liverpool when they qualified for the Champions League and won the Carabao? I can understand United, but Liverpool?
Liverpool did have a better season than Arsenal they got a champions league place and won a trophy! And Yes! Liverpool did bottle the league and so did Arsenal, it was all in their hands and they lost to Villa at home with only a handful of games left! How can you say thats not bottling it?
