GORGEOUS! Luv your cover and charm...you always use the prettiest laces! Luv all your lovely tuck spots and pockets too! Great prayer journal Chrissie...enjoy! Thanks for the inspiration my friend! xo
This prayer journal is so lovely! Thanks for sharing what you learned about the soft binding! It is so helpful to hear the good AND the bad experiences as we craft! Enjoy your journal!!! Debbie
LOVE LOVE LOVE your prayer journal. So beautifully vintage. I really like the fabric cover and the binding. You put everything together just perfectly. I'm so honored you used some of my coffee dyed ephemra, what a honor. Thank you so much. Again awesome job.
Oh Chrissie, I may have watched this once before a long time ago... not sure. But your journal is absolutely stunning, and I have been working on mine tonight while watching. I know I'll watch it again and again... it is so inspiring and lovely and delicate and vintage and all the things I love! It is keeping me up tonight when I should be in bed, lol. Thank you for sharing your lovely work with everyone. God bless.
Oh, my lawd, this is beautiful! This is the kind of journal I always visualize when I think of someone thumbing through an old journal they found in the "attic." :D
This is an amazing journal Chrissy. I love your style so very much. You put so much love and vintage style into them. Each one is a gorgeous creation. TFS
+Leigh Pogue Thank you Leigh. I really enjoy this book and now that it has got so chunky and full of all the things I have filled it with I love it even more. Chrissie x
This is looking gorgeous Chrissie. Love your tattered cover of the journal. The inside looks so wonderful vintage and old. The quotes are beautiful. TFS hugs Patrizia
Such a pretty prayer journal, I really like how you have decorated the covers and all the pretty pages, tags and pockets throughout the journal. The verses and sayings inside the book add that extra touch, lovely work Tfs, Janet
Catching up on some of your videos today and wow! How did i miss this one! So very beautiful Chrissie!!! There's so many small details included and that paper line is just gorgeous. I've tried this binding a few times before and always had the same problem with the loose signatures, it bothered me on my journals but not on yours! It's perfect! X
Oh WOW!! what a beautiful prayer journal....something your grandchildren will treasure. Sorry it took me so long getting to the Attic...I had you in my watch list so I wouldn't miss it.....just a little late. TFS and hoping you and your family are doing well. Hugs Shaz
Oh Chrissie, what a lovely prayer journal you have put together with your wonderful talent in your amazing art works. I loved it all but the front was so pretty and that Bible verse is one I dearly do love! Even if you said you learned by doing this it will still be a treasured journal! I am thinking about making a prayer journal too. I have so much I have written down in my prayer life. I believe I could fill it full without writing in it. I was thinking about that the other day, as I see lots of these kind of journals on UA-cam. Thanks for sharing and I know you will fill this up with lots of good memories of wonderful answered prayers. God Bless you! hugs, Judy
beautiful you have inspired me to put together a prayer journal for my dad x obliviously wont be as feminine as yours but certainly has gave me lots of ideas xx Thank you Chrissie xx
So beautiful! Love to look at all the pages and imagine what you will do with each one of them. BTW, what is alcohol ink? Does it come in different colors and transforms metal into that color? Thanks again for all your help in my journey towards being creative!
Donna Joseph Hi Donna, thanks for visiting. Yes, alcohol ink does come in lots of colours. It is a Ranger product. If you Google it you will find it has lots of uses but I don't really use mine that much as I am not familiar with all it's uses.Chrissie x
Chrissie, I have watched so many of these, and yours is by far my favorite! Just lovely. Am I hearing water and birds in the background? It sounds so pretty.
+Janet Pohl Thank you for visiting my channel Janet and for leaving a lovely comment. My journal has got really fat now with lots in it. Yes, we do get beautiful bird sounds in the garden.Chrissie x
Hi Chrissie, I so love this prayer journal. I noticed you used a binder clip. I was wondering if you ever tried to emboss a binder clip? I wanted to try with the dauber embosser and do vintage photo embossing powder. I am trying to take a silver to a rustic color. I know you have done so many projects😀I thought if anyone would know it would be you😀I can't wait to see your next page. Laura
Hi Laura, Thank you :) No, I haven’t changed the colour with embossing powder but I have had success with alcohol ink. I sometimes do a bunch of paper clips, just throw them in a plastic bag and drop in a few drops of the ink and swish it around. I think I have done a video on how I have done it.. Yes, just checked..if you look in my playlist ‘how I made’ it is there under faux rust. X
@@chrissiecrosser thanks I will check. I think I might do the embossing and what can it Hurt tight? Lol Did you use the ink like you used for the faux tape? Laura
Love all your journals! I'm making some for Samaritan's Purse for the Shoe Box ministry for needy children around the world. My question is.... How are you binding your journals? Are they "signatures" which are tied into the binding or what? I need some easy to do bindings as I'm making journals in large quantities for girls in the 12 - 14 yr old range & they need to be sturdy, yet economical to make. Do you think signatures would be best, tied in with string, or would you have a better suggestion?. I think your journals are the style I'm looking for & any ideas would be appreciated. (Wish you'd do some tutorials.... hint, hint! LOL)
Hello, thanks for your comment and I love Samaritan's Purse. I do the shoebox at Christmas. Great idea to put the journals in. My prayer journal in this video would have to be one of the easiest bindings I think although I am not sure it would be the sturdiest. I put two eyelets in the spine (one top and one bottom and made 5 signatures which I tied in with string (or actually crochet thread) I think if I remember rightly in the video I may have mentioned it could have been improved by doing more eyelets, depending on how many signatures you are going to put in. My journal also has a round spine which wasn't that great for adding all those signatures but if you had a normal spine like on a book that would probably be better. Have you looked at the Midori style binding. I have never done it myself but if you do a search you will find many tutorials. That might be a good option and maybe sturdier. Good luck and let me know if I can help you further. Blessings Chrissie
Thanks for the info. If my inquiry did nothing but encourage you to add some journals to your Shoe boxes, then it was worth it. LOL I watched a You tube video in which a now American woman who was volunteering with Samaritan's Purse in Romania at Christmas time, told of praying for a journal when she was a young girl there in Romania, when she wasn't even sure if there was a God to hear her. She received the journal, and thru' that, found faith in the God who loved her enough to see that her prayer was answered. Since seeing that, I have begun making journals for the 12 - 14 yr. old boxes..... However, I'm a 75 yr. old woman on a fixed income, and can't make the journals as elaborate as I would if not making them in quantity. (This past yr. I made 220 rag dolls, puppets, stuffed animals, journals etc. for the boxes.) Thus, I am always looking for ways to make the journals something a young teen would treasure without their being too costly. I often take composition books and other notebooks and make journals of them. However, in doing other journals with signatures, I worry that the bindings aren't going to last long when using string, even tho' I use that which I find to be stronger than crochet thread. I will have to look up the Midori style binding you mentioned & see if that works better. I appreciate the suggestion and if you have any further ideas to offer, please do feel free to let me know. I think we have the same tastes in our journal making ideas! Thanks much, and God bless!
Another amazing journal Chrissie! Do you have any videos that show how you do all these wonderful journals? For someone who is completely new to this I have no idea where to start. I have a lot of different scrap booking stuff but I had a friend helping me with it all and this time in her life she's not able to do a lot of scrap booking. Be Blessed, Audrey
