Maddie won with the same to tap solos, whereas Chloe’s solos changed three times in this video within two different genres. So the situation’s for them were totally different, Maddie had a standing tap private for years, and she was a specialist in that. Probably because they got banned from some competitions due to the producers misleading the judges on what Dance Moms was truly about, and the producers wanting to change the scores around to create more drama.
Tbh it creeps me out how many times they did the same solos over and over, kinda proves that aldc was a toxic environment and did NOT give a crap about anything but wins. There may be a reason why that happened, I don't do competitive dance so idk if this is a normal thing, but it seems like they only did this so their dancer would have an advantage, already knowing the dance.
This is normal. Most studios only have their dancers do 1-2 solos a year and there are repeats in the next years if it is successful. It’s not normal to learn a solo in under a week and compete, almost no studio actually does that.
it should not creep you out at all lmao this is completely normal in the dance world. parents would pay a set amount of money for a solo or two a season and their kid would compete those solos the entirety of the season. the girls on the show were the ones at a disadvantage competing solos they learned 4 days ago vs girls who had known their solo for 6 months
That’s completely normal, and you can tell that how they did it on Dance Moms was completely new because literally in the very first episode, Abby says that they’re gonna do something completely new and then tells them that they’ll be competing with new solos each weekend, and the girls looked shocked and confused. Doing the same solo every time for dance competitions is completely normal, as long as you don’t do the same solo every single year. So one year you might have a tap solo, then the following year it could be ballet, the year after it could be hip hop….that’s completely normal. Any studio that is able to pull off having their students compete with different solos every weekend, and the solos are actually good….that takes confidence and a whole lot of skills.

Christi actually got mad cuz Maddie did cry a few weeks before with the audio swaped to what they used on dance moms (it was an old dance she did with different music ) and the tap one she knew and just did it without the music (old dance with music) and Chloe and the other kids got whole new chorography and music. Christi even asked if Chloe can additionaly do a solo she knew, but they say no.
She confirmed it on a video or on a episode of back to the Barre.
Paige being Maddie's 2nd runner up right after Chloe🙁 if Abby would have given Paige the time of day she would have been in the top three with Maddie and Chloe for more competitions
Paige didn't want to dance that bad though. She stopped going to the curriculum classes
I just realized Maddie's ''big bow'' solo costume was the same in Asias first solo with the aldc I think it was called rock that
8:26 This picture 😍
I think the reason why the video we have of Maddie doing her first dance she’s wearing black is cause it was her recital and it was dress rehearsal I think so she was probably wearing that cause she was in a rush
So Melissa lied she said that Maddie was undefeated before the show started
no. she said of the past season. not her whole life. omg.
U guys gotta understand that before dance moms they would be practicing one solo the whole year and then take it to nationals so ofc the solos are gonna be repetitive
The dances some of these costumes are from are Baby Mine, Acapella, Rock That, and Cry. I thought that was kinda cool Lol
1:17 idk why it made me happy Paige won 2nd
She was actually 3rd
And he’s makin eyes at me is just baby mine but with different music
You failed to mention that Chloe received first place with her very first solo princess Chloe out on stage, New York, beating Maddie. And page.
Maddie didn't compete her solo at that competition, but Chloe did win at that one!
@@LoomerE actually both girls competed at the same onstage New York competition in Pittsburgh, that’s the one that Chloe got first place with. It’s on both of their wikis.
There is an archive of the competition schedule. Maddie did not compete her solo at that competition.

Wait. Isn’t “over the rainbow” from Maddie the same costume as “cry”?
And the dance is the same
For the most part at least
Yup and baby mine they got to use other music in season 1, same with acapella, double take etc thats why paige forgot because of new music, i recommend watching dance moms uncovered and the ep why they forgot solos
Yep they reused lots of costumes on the show (but that’s normal)
the same costume chloe is wearing in "Ma, He's Making Eyes at Me", she's definitely wore again - not sure when. Same with Maddies "USO Show" costume being used again.
I just noticed Maddie's big bow solo of the puppy is similar or is the costume of Asia doing her dog solo in season 3
It's actually the same costume!
@@rileyywhited I never even knew that! I honestly really love that outfit some might not think it's age appropriate or whatever these people are saying but me personally I think it's cute

Proof that Maddie knew cry before dance moms
‘somewhere over the rainbow’ and ‘he’s making eyes at me’ are maddie and chloe’s solos ‘cry’ and ‘baby mine’ they both performed the routines just set to different music due to copyright. They both knew their routines prior to show airing.
the solos that maddie and chloe performed in that episode were dances they both already knew but using different music
@@natt7199 Yup and Paige's solo that she forgot was set to a Lady Gaga song called Boys Boys Boys originally and Nia's first season 1 solo was originally set to a Shakira song.
And Chloe knew baby mine before ?
@@LaXeditzzyes
Wow the fact that somewhere over the rainbow and ma hes making eyes at me competed outside of dance moms (same solos as cry and baby mine)
Yep! They had to change the music because of copyright law
1:14 Paige was second runner up!!
It just shows how the girls didn’t really go to competition a lot but they went every week in the show
It’s so funny how far we did the same like two solos the whole time and Maddie did like a bunch more different ones. We had to keep competing with it exact same one.
Princess Chloe got first place in her age group.
My fave off show Maddie solo is sunshine lollipops and rainbows
Maddie solo over the rainbow the costume was used in cry solo Maddie did and Chloe solo in dance moms costume was used too and the choreographing in Maddie solo with the same
Chloe did not use Maddie‘s costume. If you didn’t get it she use a different one.
Well the thing is the Cry solo that maddie did was originally Over the Rainbow, but the song had to be changed for copyright reasons. Same goes for Chloe’s 2011 solo
Chloe look so cute in I like to fuss She warms my heart her and Maddie when I watch all of them dance But I gotta say sum BABY MINE FITS WAY BETTER THAN MA HE MAKING EYES AT ME I'm sorry but the music is so cute I luv this video!!

Sorry to ask but for "Dream on a star" in 2013 how do you know she got a titanium the aldc concert books dont mention the adjudications but we know she didnt get a perfect score since its also not listed
Chloe ended up performing "What About Mother" instead of "Dream On A Star". A web archive of the results on the competition's website lists the adjudications to those who have placed. The adjudication scoring is also on the website under its competition rules I believe.
@@LoomerE ah makes sense cause so many people use this as "proof" that chloe got a perfect score when there's proof she didn't does it say their exact scores?

@@static8355 what
@@A.C205 Yes it does and Christi told us on her channel that Chloe got a perfect score for Dream on a star. Grow up little child. Chloe is an amazing dancer and that’s never gonna change. She also beat Maddie the callback challenge in season 2, the improv challenge in season 3, nationals in season 2….and many other smaller awards that the show did not show us.
How is Maddie getting Platinum and then not placing with Bow Wow? Is that because her tap solo did better so she only get an award with one solo?
Some competitions make it so that you can only place with one solo. Otherwise one dancer could do a clean sweep of the top 3/top 5 (if they competed enough solos)
Maddie performed a tap and another dance solo in previous years before dance moms.
She did win with Bow Wow though
@@DanceMomsMadyep! Completely right. Once a girl at my studio had 3 solos (a ballet, a tap , and a lyrical). The competition only allowed one solo to place, so although all three solos got a score of 290+, only the lyrical solo won. They competed the same dances every time
That’s how it is normally on competition teams. The show made them do new dances each week because it would otherwise be boring
It wasn’t fair to them having to compete at such a young age
What? That’s what dance competitions are about. It’s supposed to be you competing against people even if they are friends
It’s funny how all of these they did on the show and they act like they didn’t even know them and they just learned that
Most likely it was the producers that told them to act like they were just learning them….
Why did maddie always do sunshine and lolly pops btw I’m not hating just curios
Because Abby wanted her to.
No one before the show learned a whole new solo every week, they would learn a solo and compete multiple times before the season ended
That’s how normal competition teams are like. Everyone learns the dances all year and then compete them. The show just made them do new dances
Can someone PLEASE tell me what the heck small fry is!?!?!
It's how they named the "mini" category at that particular competition.
Small fry is also 8 or 7 and under in some comps
Ahhhhhhhhhh fry
Chloe and Maddie didnt switch between the hog her placement as often as Christi made it seem, but she’s still an amazing dancer!
There might be more competitions without any evidence
Also, Maddie mostly won with tap. Chloe was the more versatile dancer and she also 2 titles in this video over Maddie. Maddie won with the same to tap solos, whereas Chloe’s solos changed three times in this video within two different genres. So the situation’s for them were totally different, Maddie had a standing tap private for years, and she was a specialist in that. They weren’t that far apart and right before the show in 2011, they were going back-and-forth. They each beat other two times right before the show

As a former dancer, this is normal. I would have 2 or 3 solos that I performed interchangeably for one season.
it should not creep you out at all lmao this is completely normal in the dance world. parents would pay a set amount of money for a solo or two a season and their kid would compete those solos the entirety of the season. the girls on the show were the ones at a disadvantage competing solos they learned 4 days ago vs girls who had known their solo for 6 months
