Am gonna say it again while everyone is being distracted by the Menasor wars mmc has being putting out one of the best looking combiners out there in my opinion
The Problem you are having with that Underside Flap in Legmode, is that there are tabs that fold out of his wrist that plug into it to hold it away from the body, and that second flap flips down, and locks into the lower part covering the center strut, and solidifying the leg.
In leg mode you can fold out the grey trabs on the arms so the bottom plate can slot into them. And then the smaller bottom plate can fold down to fill in the middle section.
I'm sure others will mention this, but there are some tabs that come out for the combiner mode to secure the piece that was lose. I'm looking forward to getting this figure and the rest of the set. I know the full combiner won't be as big as the Toyworld and Zeta stuff, but the engineering is incredible. It also blows me away how these figures look so much better than Zeta considering they're more ambitious with what the're doing.
I think it works best for me. I do love the all included combiner idea. I do agree with you that it is a lot more toon accurate. But I think what appeals to me is the Toy accuracy. All the MMC combaticons so far have felt like the old g1 toys I played with when I was super young. I think that is what appeals to me. Its the same for the XTB youth stunticons.
The flap on the leg mode has a couple of tabs that flip out to secure it in place. You can see the ports on the other side of the flap. All the tolerances loosen up after a few transformations.
I picked up Ox Impetus (almost sounds like a disease eh?) aka Vortex at TFcon DC and think he's amazing, especially after a few transformations. Every TF ab crunch should work how his does with the extra torso plastic. It's nice not having a giant squared off gap when using it. I'm definitely in for the set. Fraudo may not have all the articulation of Impetus, but he still has amazing engineering and really exudes the character. He's my next planned pickup. He looks great in every review I've seen.
I know 200 people are probably going to point it out but in his leg mode he has a panel that should be flipped down in order to cover the "gap" in the middle.
I know 200 people are probably going to point it out but in his leg mode, he has a panel that should be flipped down in order to cover the "gap" in the middle. There fixed.
Those 4 locking parts on the back of the legs are NOT covered in the instructions at all which is a big problem given how they hold quite a bit together and lock the legs in. Over all I do really like this figure. The accuracy is brilliant, it's so articulate and performs beautifully in all 3 modes. My 1 big gripe is that I need a tool every time I transform him. So many of the clipped in parts and also just some regular hinges are so tight that bare hands can't do it. I like it when a figure has tight joints to hold an pose and stay together but some of these on Fraudo are just silly tight. Also just to note, the front flat panel in leg mode might be that way for combination/something on onslaught might clip in there. Great review as always Bobby and look forward to not only getting the full set myself next year but also hearing your thoughts on each release.
Thoughts about the fig., agreed. Great colors, but I like real word design of UT as well. 😂You were working so hard on this one, no tight-like-a-tiger joke. Or maybe tight-like-a-Tiger.... Tracks!🤣👍
I was thinking the same thing, sculpt wise i prefer the UT one, but the colours here are great (lazyaza did a great job as usual). The engineering is so clever and I love that. But I'm gonna be passing, I've got he zeta set and the ut ones, so for me to trade up now it needs to be really special and this compromises too much for the (admittedly genius) all in one gimmick.
Between MMC and UT I would want UT with MMC's colors. I am looking forward to what other companies do for Swindle, he is simply one of my favorite characters so I'm probably in for every version of him released even if I don't get the full Combaticon teams.
I don't have a Tiger Tracks but, after that comment, I think I really need one now! I might even get 50 of them so I can put a Tiger Tracks next to each one of my figures! I am gonna put a Bobby Skullface symbol on it instead of the Autobot symbol (can we get ToyHax on this please?). Long live Tiger Tracks (and bring back the skits)!
So you seemed slightly annoyed about the tightness in the joints. Dont worry about it. The forums have people saying that it became less tight to play with and more comfortable
Im still on a dilemma, should i buy the Combaticons of Unique Toys (They have in my oppinion a greater Swindle, is just a shame they got it in the wrong color) Or Ocular Max Combaticons (what i really like is that theyre not partsforming, but i've heard they have really tolerance issues)
I've got all the Released figures thus far and the MMC Ocular Max figures are AMAZING. You will not be disappointed with them. They are in no uncertain terms some of the Best Most satisfying figures I've ever purchased. If you can get past the scale difference between Onslaught and the rest, then you will be beyond happy with them. I've got the completed Toy World Constructor. I don't like that thing 1/10th as much as I like this set.
WHO HERE is gonna go back & re-WATCH Bobby 's Tiger Tracks review --- Go play some Huey Lewis And The News - " Back In Time " & watch a BARE chested SKULLIE review Tiger Tracks for the 1st time ..LOL..
I need to write some Tigertrack fan-fic one of these days. Maybe I can make some Season 2.X episodes which tale the TF tale from 1986 through 2005 and Tigertrack can be a major playa'.
Hatchi matchi... I'd have a nervous breakdown transforming one of these ultra-tight toleranced (and expensive) bots. O.o And your channel without Tigertrack would be like mint without chocolate chip!
This set is very cool with the engineering but, the combiner mode for Bruticus will be very short I read it was only going to be 18"? Not sure if that is correct but that is definitely too short for Bruticus.
I still feel like no one has nailed this set yet in terms of scale, accuracy and paint. I’m holding out hope for Fans Toys on this one. It’ll be the first time I’ve actually waited on FT to do a figure 😂.
03:20 - that and the giant hinge carriers running down the side and back of it. It's not a very masterpiece-y design. putting TigerTrack next to it further emphasizes that. TT is very clean, Fraudo is full of engineering kibble, so to speak.
This looks like a very sturdy and smartly engineered transforming figure, I'm not getting it but it looks like a good quality figure. I don't have a big relation with this character in particular but it looks like Swindle so I agree with your opinion on every thing you said. Thank you for the review. I've been coming back to watch this review because every time I look at an image of this figure on a couple of online shops it grows on me. I've been struggling with the thought of buying it because I think it's expensive and I'm not going to buy the other figure for this combiner set , on top of that, Fans Toys may get to do it too so I give up on though of buying it. I don't know if it's the design, the engineering or simply the colors but I like this figure... I like it a lot.
Whenever you review the all in one combiner bots, remember, you would not want to live in a world where all combiners used no partsforming. Just like I and many others do not want to live in a world where all combiners exclusively use partsforming. Different strokes and all that. You tend to be fair for the most part, but it does sometimes feel like you harp on the inclusion of combiner engineering a bit too much, on figures where the whole appeal is that engineering. At least for a lot of people like myself.
Right there with you on this comment. I plan on getting this Swindle soon. I have Votex, Blastoff, and Brawl and I love them. I'm going to complete the set and I have nothing but high praise for what MMC did with this set. I would have been very disappointed if they had gone the parts-forming route.
Someone really asked you to stop using Tiger Tracks? Haha! Of all the things to be worried about in this life. Sheesh! Another great review and I'm glad I won't be getting these.
Not only do I NOT want you to stop using Tiger Trax, I'd love to see you put a compilation video together of all the times you throw him around.
I could make that, if ya wanted me to.

Man I haven't picked up any 3Ps but very impressive looking.
The outermost panel on the back flap folds down to make the leg mode cleaner:]
And as a bonus, if you don't rotate that plate, you can recreate G1 Swindle!
The flap on the leg mode has a couple of tabs that flip out to secure it in place. You can see the ports on the other side of the flap.

The flap plays no part in combination. Paik4Life covered combination in his latest Onslaught prototype review
16:30 - yikers, no ratchets? :(
MMC really needs to give him his smirk.
They did, Bobby just didn't have it send over by his buddy. Same with the spare wheel that can mount on the back.
Thoughts about the fig., agreed. Great colors, but I like real word design of UT as well. 😂You were working so hard on this one, no tight-like-a-tiger joke. Or maybe tight-like-a-Tiger.... Tracks!🤣👍
The color looks soooo much better on this when compared to the UT Swindle. I kind of wish I hadn't seen that now.

i'm sure someone said this but for leg mode there are two little pegs that come out of the body that peg into the chest plate 5:47
