Why mic it if you want to show the ability of the pickup?

Because you always give a bit of room to the whole mix with an external mike in addition.

@weknow aller: that is not what I said. You will have the real sound of the guitar through the pickup but you will habe a bit of room mixed to it. That is what all the studios an live sound technicians do.
