Great playing! I can't get over how good the DCB series of pickups sound. I've really found "my" type of tones in dual bar ceramic pickups, like Aguilar DCBs or EMG 40DC/40DCX.
Wow I feel exactly the same way about the Musicman Stingray basses . It’s just kinda strange to hear someone say it. And that is I enjoy when I hear others playing the Stingray bass (and I have owned at least 3 including the MM 5, all American models). But when I play a Stingray I sort of like it , but not enough to want to hold unto it. So I usually end up selling it, it’s just not for me. For my taste I think the Stingray would be a better sounding bass if the pickup(s)were closer to the bridge on either model. But they are well built instruments
Lol I've thought the same thing about musicman basses. That I like them when someone else is playing them. So I bought a Sterling By Musicman SUB so I could have close to that sound on the cheap since I won't play it that much.
How do you think it compares to a dual coil pickup in roughly the same position? You said it sounds awesome but with all of your caveats, I’m having a hard time believing you. Does this pickup have a sound that you personally think is usable in a professional situation where you would usually use dual coils? Can you imagine havin one in the neck position as well and achieving similar results to two dual coils?
These were launched a few months ago and you're the first to put up recording examples! Thanks man.
Thank YOU!
There is such little bass content out there so thanks for putting out super informative and well-filmed videos!

Awesome demo, Jamie. That pickup sounded pretty cool. I do like the smooth punchy sound quality of ceramic pickups, but I also dig alcino pickups.
Great tone on that setup
Thank you for this pickup test, i hoped so much to know soon how that mm style pickup sounded.
Sounds great to me!!
I would love for you to review the Kloppmann PB-63 P-Bass pickup!!😊
Thank You for the video!!
You have a fantastic touch when ur playing it’s awesome 👏that pick up is superb love it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤙🏽
thank you!
That first bass line was filthy. It really worked well with that punchy tone,.
thanks!
Did the Stingray still use the original preamp or was it an Aguilar as well? Thanks.
There’s a video from Aguilar directly, on this pickup and it looks like the same bass. In the comments there, they say it’s an OBP-3.
Somebody knows what song is the first riff is playing?

This pickup sounds like a MusicMan Sabre/Stingray mix to me, more punch and highs.
Different characters, the Stock pickup sounds little bit modern edgy kind of, the Aguilar is vintage one
Jayme I need a ramp for my Jazz bass and these pickups would cover that so my fingers dont dig in too much , it sounds good
If you want thicker and fuller buy a p or a j style bass, if you want that killer scooped tone you can't beat the mm
That shirt is awesome! Where can I get one? Thanks for the review of the pickup.
Thanks! I sell them here shop.thebassist.net/products/the-bassists-t-shirt?variant=30212440466 but at the moment we're out of stock on L and XL :/
Where do you get the backing tracks you were playing against?
They're all tracks that I've played on for other artists :)
they sound real nice...... would like to see how they would sound with a slightly driven tone....

Those aren’t too bad
