  • While Baltimore and Ohio Color Position Light signals are nearly extinct in the state of West Virginia, following the Mountain Sub's modern signal installs, there is one line left that still features several of the iconic CPLs. Now the Appalachian and Ohio shortline, the former B&O Cowen Sub between Knight and Hampton Junction features CTC and these classic signals. A&O has filed to go dark (and traffic levels really don't warrant signals), so get them while you can!

    I believe there is one lone signal near new martinsville just past the Ohio river bridge

    THAT IS CSX NOT APPALACHAIN&OHIO!

      CSX run-through power operated by an A&O crew. A&O power is used on QD freights and coal from Beech Mountain, for the most part.
