I noticed an interesting point (don’t know if you catched it also). This chapter not only reflects blind faith in our spiritual walk with God, but also in our leaders. Naomi kinda served as the leader Ruth is following in this story. Yet despite how faithless and pessimistic her leader is, Ruth still chose to follow (perhaps because she trusted more in God than in Naomi). So perhaps this can also be used to show us how to support our leaders even when our leaders themselves are struggling. Just a thought :)

It may have been because Ruth really loved Naomi’s son, and was in grief- either way god used the entire situation to create Jesus’ line.
But why does the genetics of Jesus matter?

I Love how she decided to become completely vulnerable and trust God completely, stepping out in complete blind faith even after seeing everything that's happened. I find that to be an extreme, monumental display of what our faith as believers should look like. Even when everything seems to go wrong abd we don't understand at all, to still choose to trust God completely and stay dependant on him as well as completely vulnerable but still standing in strenght and determination. WOW!

I feel like I relate to Naomi in this story. I've been going through things lately where I feel as if God has left me behind and is putting me through a struggle I cannot understand the meaning behind. im trying to put my life into Gods hands and understand that the timing of everything he does is perfect but it is really hard for me right now. I hope that continuing on with the books of Ruth I will be able to understand the purpose of the hardship he is putting me through.

Bless God... smtmz its to see how obedient we are in the midst of hard times. If we'd leave or reject him. Others is to make us seek him more and stronger in him they'd his Promises. Others is learning to wait n be patient when we want the pains to be over. Others its things still being purged out... smtms is the enemy. I can only suggest u seek the LORD IN WHY... if there anything ur not seeing if he can show you in dream or sm1... and just wait and trust him and Praise him in bad n good times.
      Amen

    Here's my 2 cents addition :
In addition to showing kindness and redemption, as well as to explain away king David's Moabit roots, the other reason for this story is showing how, women who work together, can thrive 😀

I just found this video after spending months keeping my distance from God because life became challenging and I felt alone and unloved. Most of my time away was on purpose but the other part of it was seasons of business. I looked for a book and for some reason was drawn toward Ruth. I watched the Bible project to understand the context of it before reading and then shortly after reading the first chapter found your video. God loves to work in our lives haha! I listened and watched to your whole video with so much engagement that I haven’t had in a very long time reading the Bible. I am so thankful that you made this video Bc it really is reaching the right people! Thank you for helping me find my way back! ❤️

Thankyou Kaci, this is amazing, I recently finished reading through the new testament which I started in January, I then decided only yesterday that I was going to pick up where I left off in the old testament which by coincidence was at RUTH! So your study has now become the start of my journey in the old testament. Great context and history details given, thankyou so much. Ruth is so relatable to my own life right now as I'm feeling some of those things, destitute and in need of a family and then food haha, I am turning 30 soon and still live with my parents which feels not good sometimes. I need to step out in faith abit more like Ruth does I think. Its encouraging to see how God always provides and knows our needs. Thankyou Kaci, really really enjoy your studies. Feeling blessed! Xx

I'm so grateful you've been obedient to the Lord and shared his word. I was given Ruth for a week I read and read and i said God what do I need to know you obviously want me to read it. I've been so impatient, wanting my partner to commit verbally and wanting my real estate commercial client to pull the trigger each of these men were shown to me in my dreams ( that's usually how God talks to me how I know what to read or whatever ) and yet each if these 2 men started within a week apart of executing what I was shown then each decided to delay. Business and my relationship I feel so much like Naomi sometimes. As it sits my phone was disconnected today I feel defeated last night I totally pushed my partner away or I think I just feel like God wasn't going to fulfill those promises to me. I cried this morning I'm praying and I had it in me to look on UA-cam for Ruth and I thank you. I'm going to truly study with you this week while God takes care of what he has promised 🙏🏾

Wow, I am amazed at how much I learned from your bible study. In the past I have a hard time understanding the bible and doing it by myself is difficult for me. Right now I am going through a season of waiting with this guy who is a godly man. He put our relationship on hold at the moment because he felt like we need to put our focus on God and trust him on the timing we should start dating again. It has freaked me out and gave me a lot of anxiety. I have been reading the bible and praying to God, but I am scared to trust God with the relationship. As I do this bible study with you on youtube it has helped me gain trust in God again and it made my anxiety go away. I pray as I watch the rest of the videos my anxiety will be gone and I can completely surrender to God. Amen.

What stood out to me is the ending and how God showed up when the didn't expect it with the harvest. I love how you say it's "perfect timing." I interpreted that Naomi believe in the idea of god but not god, however Ruth was loyal to her with faithfulness in knowing that god would provide. Ruth was her great friend like a sister and sisters do life together. Let me know if you thought differently.

I love to do word studies when doing bible study because it helps me understand the passage a bit better. I noticed in vs 19 where it says the townspeople were "stirred" by their arrival. I read the Christian Standard Bible, and my version says "excited about" their arrival. Well, that didn't sound right to me because the Israelites and Moab did not have a good relationship. That was why Naomi didn't want Ruth and Orpah to come back to Bethlehem with her. They most likely would have been ridiculed. So I looked up the verse in the Blue Letter Bible, and the Hebrew word they used there is "hum", a verb meaning "to distract, ring again, make a great noise, murmur, roar, discomfit", etc. I looked up the exact meaning of discomfit, and it means to make someone feel uneasy or embarrassed. That definitely makes more sense than "excited", considering the history between Israel and Moab. Some food for thought!

Amazing job Sister in Christ!!!! I am loving this story. I have a question about the ten years. Is there any other significance to it culturally or patterned throughout the Bible? Could there be a relationship to the Law ie. Ten Commanfments? It seems like there is a theme here of being lawful obedient Ruth (gentile church or bride) juxtaposed with grace offered through Boaz. It seems like Ruth's sly actions to dress herself as if she were available versus a widow goes against the law but her obedience trust and kindness overrides all that in the sight of her redeemer (Boaz, Christ). Thank you for this great analysis. Best yet for me. Still seeking

I’m starting my return to Bible study here because my great grandma compared herself to my grandma as Ruth and Naomi.

Side note : Boaz is also from the lineage of Judah and Tamar. The Lord is in the details and when we read scriptures enough we see that HE turns everything bad for good and there is forgiveness and mercy to those who practice MERCY as Judah displayed when he tried to take the place of Benjamin
