I couldn’t even put my foot down after surgery, my foot, internal and external ankle was swollen to the point. You couldn’t even touch it. I can’t even walk. My knee is extremely unstable. What ever doctor says it’s okay to walk right after surgery is insane.

Same. My doctor was so confident that I could walk after that. But after surgery, a little shift to the right or left feels like my knee was gonna come apart. Even when the nurse said it was ok to bend a bit while sitting down, in my mind I was like HECK NO! I had a 1 week rest. Then I just got Uber rides to work. Damn stairs 😆.

Exactly! I think very few can walk right after surgery. I’m on my 4th day and I can barely put pressure on it.

Hard thing about this for me is, I broke my fibula and unstablized/severely sprained my ankle in November. Also injured my knee at the time but doctors keep saying it was because of my ankle and never looked at it. Had surgery in December and now my knee pain has just been getting worse and worse while my leg is getting better. I haven’t put weight on my leg since I broke it. I just got the clear to start putting weight on my leg this weekend, but also just had an appointment specifically for my knee. I have an mri next week and a follow up with the knee doc. He’s pretty confident it’s my meniscus and/or mcl and I’ll be put in for another surgery. Can’t find much information on what happens to people in my situation. My ankle is getting better and I’m trying to rehab it, but my knee is getting worse. :/ thanks for the good videos

Full bucket handle tear on my right meniscus. It's taking some serious time. Been at home for almost 7 weeks

@vegetadbz6855 So, in all honesty it wasn't funt at first. However, it was only the first week that was the worst. I kept my brace locked and sat with my leg elevated on something. What no one tells you is that you Have to get a good brand of stool softener / laxative. (I know)
The pain meds are going to block you up and believe you; me, you don't want to pass a 10lbs baby with your leg in that much pain. As far as the pain itself, day 3-4 really do suck but if you stay on schedule with your pain meds, you'll make it through a-ok.

What about walking after onset of symptoms. No mri to confirm but symptoms sound like meniscus tear. Waking is not painful unless I overdo it but sitting down and getting up with bending the knee is painful. Unfortunately sitting down to go to the bathroom is one of the worst. I tend to bend my knee out beyond the 90 degree Angle so it’s not as painful.

My surgeon is a idiot. No crutches. Then the doctor says go to therapy tomorrow . Day after surgery. Therapist had me do walking. Leg exercise. And leg kicks. Treadmill. Seriously. I stopped going. The reason I quit was because i flatlined in surgery and they are keeping it hush hush. My chest was extremely painful and bruised.. I'm DNR

Why would you be nervous about using crutches after surgery? The only reason you need them is because the surgery causes swelling and the surgical entry points need to heal, because they cause slight trauma to the tissue.
