Short Story: Hedgehog’s Dilemma

People want to get closer when they get too far. And when they get too close, they want to be far away. This human psychology is called the ‘hedgehog's dilemma’. It means that close psychological distance between people is not necessarily good.
It is often said that the most difficult thing in life is relationships, and perhaps this ‘hedgehog’s dilemma’ is one way to sustain them well. It was said that Charles De Gaulle, former President of France, was the one who recognized its importance and applied it well, and his motto was "Stay the right distance!"
