- The first car feature on the channel had to be a Subie! I know it's not an old 90's car, but I believe in a few years, this hatch will be one one the classics from Subaru. I had a steering rack leak problem and other issues that I still need to address. I hope you guys enjoy this journey with me!

Bro, when I built my EJ205 with forged pistons I had a little bit of that noise. An engine builder friend of mine recommended Brad Penn semi-synthetic oil due to the high zinc content. It solved my problem, and based on lab tests I'm safely going 8k between oil changes. Give it a shot.

Check for heat shield rattle around the header and uppipe, that could be the sound you’re hearing at idle

Buddy i feel ya in the mystery tour of problems because i also went balls to the wall with a 2011 sti hatch that has an erray of craziness that i have been hacking away little by little... im probably 4k in by now after a year and thats after a years worth of getting yelled at by my lady😁
Jared Guerra hahahaha! I actually got lucky that this thing’s motor is super healthy. After digging through carfax and making some calls to a couple shops locally, i found out this motor only has 13k miles on it. Thanks for the comment. Hope to see you in the comments section of the next video fam
@@adobomoto for sure subiebro... i would say if anything gaskets, air oil separator and maybe run some fine line motor oil (motul/ams/royal purple) and see if the knock noise goes first... it wont hurt to try and actually your engine will appreciate it plus an aos is good for your engine's life.
Jared Guerra i have an aos install video coming, along with a new inlet pipe, and i’ll be ordering a killer b oil pickup soon. Just not sure i wanna shell out the $$ for the oil pan. But i really think it’s a header leak. Have a tomei elh with up pipe ready to go too..just not sure if i wanna keep it stock for a bit since i found out it’s a new motor.
I change power steering fluid once a year. Zero leaks from a 2008 sti with 140k daily driver. Often power steering and brake fluid get neglected
The two Prius’ in your driveway are more reliable than your Subaru will ever be !!
