Burglars Steal $30 Million in Cash From Los Angeles Vault

- Brazen thieves stole a record-breaking $30 million in cash during a heist. The burglary unfolded on Easter Sunday at a GardaWorld money storage facility just outside Los Angeles. Armored trucks deliver huge sums of cash where the money is stored for small and large businesses from around the region. The thieves apparently gained entry by climbing into the roof hatch at GardaWorld. Authorities are trying to figure out how the thieves broke into the building without triggering the security system.
For some reason seeing an old fashioned physical heist with a mission impossible vibe has an endearing quality to it.
Yess
So heartwarming to hear about a group of people going out and enjoying Easter together ;)

A wall with a hole in it boarded up with plywood is not how I imagined security to be in a facility housing tens of millions of dollars.
yeah, that's more like, 'the door to my crawlspace went missing, but I gotta keep the raccoons from going under my house'
Inflation hits hard
That's how they got in. Removed plywood.
Ah yes the paper mache walls
Is every employee gonna have to take a poly
am I the only one who thinks it's beyond ridiculous that they can't afford to hire a couple of extra employees to guard 30 million dollars around the clock? or has inflation gotten so bad that 30 million is just chump change for these big companies?
It's like, where might a fella find one of these unguarded money vaults with no alarms? Asking for a friend............
i think elon makes that much money a minute just breathing air lol 30m is nothing for them.
I think people just get complacent with safety and begin to believe that nothing bad will happen
I think you may be confused as to WHOS money that is in the first place. Trust me they have a contract with the treasury and it doesn't require them to have person on the property after hours.
At Bear Mountain in NY, a computer was stolen from the police station. I wish I knew more. As to how for instance- did someone from a cleaning company grab it on the way out? You'd think there'd have been cameras. But for whatever reason, in the following days they prohibited us AmeiCorps volunteers from showering at the police station there (one shower is downstairs). The Parks department didn't turn on the water for 6 weeks in our camp, and we got plenty sweaty, dirty, and poisin-ivy ridden building hiking trails manually. So it was a slap in the face to be told we can't shower there anymore since a computer was stolen in a different part of the building. It sounded like there hadn't been an identification of who did it, so the cops just closed the building off for volunteers. It's fun to imagine someone not even working there just walked in though, not going to lie.
The burglars were somehow able to gain entry without setting off an alarm. This is the definition of an inside job!
meh, alarm has to be set / wouldn't surprise me if someone was lazy and didn't make sure the alarm was on

The driver prob tipped off the thieves, maybe they kicked him some after
Maybe they were trying to hiding-in-plain-sight technique :9
Youd have to hide the fact its being transported from practically every regular employee, and even then. Who says a higher up isn't going to think getting a 100m payday (Realistically 10-20 after being fenced) wouldn't be a good payday?
So many trucks there. You would have to know the exact truck is in. I honestly believe you didn't even need a padlock. Ppl not breaking into random truck trailers at random truck stops.
I think the $100m truck was an inside job as well cause that also would take a well trained group of guys to yoink that much. Plus how did they know exactly with trailer to choose. Someone got paid, I know that!

I worked for this company fixing the trucks off site but when I had to check on trucks at the vault all these workers look sketchy as hell. I wouldn’t trust them at the Nike store. One guy got caught because he bought a new Lexus and kept flexing that he paid cash. They were on to him and found out he was stealing a box of quarters ($500) daily.
ain't no way dude was making it out of there with 25lbs of quarters daily, especially if it was STILL IN THE BOX. Would be believable if he stuck the rolls in every square inch of his body vs him just having the all in one spot.

Pro tip Inside news. Mute the audio when showing drone footage. No one cares about listening to the buzzing of the motors and it doesn't add anything useful to the report.
I believe they add the sound effect in post because most drones don’t record audio up in the sky like that.
@@AntsDrone Yeah, I own a DJI and a couple of my friends and acquaintances own different models, none of them record audio. Would be pointless anyways being that high up, you'd need a directional mic to pick up anything useful.

As a former employee of that Armored Truck group, I am not surprised that it happened, especially since it seems and smells like an inside job in more ways than one.
Given the lax and lazy attitudes and conduct of my former coworkers and management of the branch I worked at when it came to safety and security, I was surprised that it wasn't hit in the two years I worked there.
