As a 7000VR player (AKA the ones "double your rating"), I say that Funky Kong isn't needed. You just need to get good with either the Flamerunner (Bowser bike for us europeans) or Machbike, and if you use one of those two and are not very bad at the game (like my brother Jisu, he is so bad he got yelled at in RTT1, they clearly have not seen my parents driving yet), character doesn't matter very much. Yes Funky Kong is technically the fastest and has access to the best bike, I don't really care, Bowser on Bowser bike sounds way more normal so I use that
you can also download a mod called tournament museum that lets you play the now lost tournaments that were twice a month when the official servers were still up, those tournaments are like the missions from MKDS
You're like the good ending version of me, I feel like the online expirience tainted my view on this game (regardless of my skill level) like, everyone goes the same exact character and the same exact bike pulling the same exact tech only to win.. wheres the fun in that? at that point i feel like im playing online time trials (which btw it is a thing that exists in MKWII) like, maybe just maybe not every game needs to be competitive cuz that might ruin the fun of others. That being said i still play MKWII to this day. Also btw I recommend you checking out Riibalanced or MKWII Deluxe, both of these mods rebalance all of the vehicles so its more fun (and MKWII deluxe remaps the Y button on the GCN controller to do wheelies and its such a life changer it doesnt feel right to go back to vanilla MKWIIs button layout)
hey, I am not sure if you've already seen Mushroom Peaks, but if you have I am quite sure you didn't really like it. (It is in CTGP) if you want to play mario kart wii with the good and the funky kong (leaving out the bad), consider playing Mario Kart Wii Galaxy instead, also has custom music...
I found your channel from your first video about a modded 3ds, I was interested since I modded my "New" 2ds XL a few months ago. I was surprised at the quality of the videos for your subscriber count I've been waiting for more videos seriously keep going you will get big.
im pretty good at mkwii i use mario with a bike i got first place ONCE online the players on online are ALL sweats BUT thats what makes it fun you just have to keep playing to get better and better then you will start to have fun
I'm glad you didn't stoop so low as to keep using funky kong and flame runner, because i've noticed that anyone who doesn't use that or daisy mach is 1000% nicer to talk or listen to. Great video, btw.
if you want to improve then you shouldn't play on wii wheel, every other controller is great and i suggest the nunchunk because you can wheelie and do tricks by shaking the controller, also a track i suggest is jangle jamble and is in the ctgp roster, it's very short and can help you improve on wheelies and drifting, i suggest playing a lot time trial to improve driving skill and consistency and focus on online in the future. also sorry if my english is bad but it's not my first language

people just don't know the coolness of the super blooper,,,, or the honesty of playing Bowser Jr,,,,,
daisy and funky kong are the only good characters in that game. also u need to chain mini turbos

Very good video! I recommend you to use Bowser Jr with Dolphin Dasher, it is very easy to use and is an inside drift vehicle.
