Remember watching her in Astitva, Jeet and Guns n Roses. Astitva gave her initial recognition and success. Unlike what Diljit says, most of her fans clearly remember her from her tv days. I clearly remember being so surprised when I first saw her in her first Punjabi movie trailer. Thereon there was no looking back. Punjabi movies were not fancy or mainstream back then and neither did they have any recognisable superstars, Neeru was the first superstar, the name people could associate with Punjabi movie industry, the only recognisable name by the masses. She carried the industry solely on her shoulders with the help of her star power for almost a decade, she made the industry recognisable and popular among masses, the industry does owe a fair bit to her. She was like SRK of Punjabi movie industry. I was so proud of her, unlike other industries where only male actors rule, here back then no male star came even close to her popularity. For me she would always be a rockstar! 🌟
