hello, you're the only youtuber who have the gauntlet review. The wings are not the only ones that move, the whole cockpit should be able to swivel. Micro galaxy can 360 the wings, and the cockpit can also 360. Can you check if starships select Gauntlet cockpit also swivels?
Yeah, the Gauntlet cockpit should move, but unfortunately on the Hot Wheels Starships Select version, it does not. There is no seam/join in that area, just painted sculpted detail. To be honest I collect the Star Wars Starships Select line simply expecting a fixed display position, so I was just excited that the Gauntlet wings move!
We very much like Ahsoka's shuttle, but unfortunately that Hot Wheels starship isn't available in our country yet. As soon as it is, we'll be sure to unbox it here! 😃
Thanks for the review! Snagged this one a few nights ago and will be opening it soon after I post. Hot Wheels vs Micro Fleet... Hot Wheels starships (I own about 25) Pros: Stands. Ball-jointed to boot! One price. Similar sizing. (Easier to display and the collection feels more coherent) Consistently higher quality. Stellar paint apps. Cons: That disgusting Mattel assortment bullshit. Saw 11...eleven...TIE fighters at one walmart. Chase versions are lame and undesirable. Micro Galaxy (I own 6) Pros: More variety/deeper cuts Differing sizes (more interesting) Value feels good in the $15 range Cons: Inclusion of figures lead to dumb compromises (like the clamps in the gunship troop bay) Chase versions are frustrating. Some cheap-outs on paint. (TIE window frames) And then there's the real killer con.... No stands! Hot Wheels for me!
Yeah, tend to agree on those points. A few minor tweaks and the MGS line could have really nailed it - partcularly if it had flight stands. Plus Hot Wheels is the only way we'll get the really big ships like Star Destroyers. We do like both lines though... have ended up getting what we can from both.
