This is pure pre-punk 1960s US Garage /psyche. How did they know about that in 70s Edinburgh? The Rezillos, Edinburgh again, were all over it too. And back in USA, the The Cramps were on it. The B52s were on it. The Valves deserve a little love from those bands, and others less famous
the sound is perfect- It's like 60s US Garage 'punk'. Small studio home made vibe. Valves came out of the DIY punk scene. You have to understand the importance of DIY to punk; the tiny independent labels and home studios, and how it recaptured the true spirit of Rock n Roll, at a time when a new generation needed a voice they weren't getting from the mainstream at the time. The primitive sound was right on point
