Sachin Dev Burman is from Comilla in Bangladesh. In the Summer we would have a harmonium and flute in the shade of a large tree. When it got very hot we would jump from the tree right into a large pond.

Many of us who are Muslims put our lives on the line to protect our Hindu families. Young Bangladeshi boys and young men shielded our Hindu brother's and sisters. Even today, we avoid relationship with people from Pakistan. However, many of us are not fond of Modi. He is the Indian version of Yahya Khan of Pakistan. On average people of Bangladesh are very intelligent and I attribute that to our much consumption of fish - often regarded as brain food. In Bangladesh - marriage across religious lines is very common. My cousin who was a Freedom Fighter was married to a woman of Hindu faith. Our home in Dhaka, my sister sponsors a Hindu girl to live with us and attend College. Most of us who participated in the Liberation War had never reconciled with Pakistan. One member of our family who joined Pakistan Army's local recruits had to leave Bangladesh - he continues to hide in NY cities Bangladeshi community. He can never return to Bangladesh.
