so for in this case for intensity of light can be 0 (cancel out completely) is it?

For a table-top-sized experiment in vacuum, possible to cancel out completely! But in real life, even the light also will decrease in intensity ever so slightly

But it were light, instead of sound would it be "B"

    What about dstructive interefence

Doesn’t the waves cancel completely despite their difference in distance travelled when their path difference is X.5 lambda as they are coherent waves, according to the explanation of examiners report , apart from the reason of background

That's what I know as well. At minima points, destructive interference occurs where coherent waves in anti phase superpose to give 0 Amplitude. I=A*2 hence Intensity will also be 0. I have never learn't that distance traveled reduces the amplitude of waves?? Kindly clarify on the ERs explanation if possible ma'am.I'm confused! thanks @ETphysics
