    Hi Jan, I'm super happy I discovered your channel! I've had a life-long fascination with Iceland and had the pleasure of going for 10 days, like 20 years ago. I've always loved the idea of going again, but during the winter months. Thank you for the added motivation and keep up the fine work!

    Such an informative video, in a relaxed style. In exactly one week flying to Akureyri to do the Ring-road! I am so excited. I discovered Northern Iceland last year by myself and fell in love. Now I will be introducing my partner to this wondrous place - I can't wait!

    Hi Jan, thanks for all of the tips and great places to see in Iceland.
    I saw a video by some travelers in Iceland that went on a Whale watching boat. It was very cold but they seem to enjoy it. They said that they even have medicine to give people that get Seasick on the tours as well.
    The Ice Caves would be fascinating to see. Even the one that you said was man made would be interesting to experience and see.

    • @janiniceland
      @janiniceland  6 днів тому

      Thank you Ben! I had no idea about the medicine, I will ask next time, curious to see what it is, I honestly felt pretty sick last time I went whale watching (but maybe that was just because i was staring on my phone screen while filming with my drone haha)

    The landscape behind you at the beginning of the video is so beautiful and the snippet of the small area in an ice cave at 4:37 is so mesmerizing 😍 Thanks for another great video Jan! 😊

    Do you have any tips for sleeping in the car/van? Is it possible to stand on a free parking place over night?

    • @janiniceland
      @janiniceland  6 днів тому

      Take a look at my channel, I made a whole video about it. :) But long story short : it's ok, but only if there's no open campsite nearby.

    As always, great advice. I’m hopeful of returning later this year, maybe October 🤞🤞 I have a new hip which by that time, will be good to go. Alas I have some other issues that need to be assessed. So, I’m planning 2 1/2 weeks with a week up north. I’ll base myself in Akureyri & do some day trips. Hopefully no Polar Bears 😆

      @@katesommerville7217 thanks Kate! That sounds amazing :) i hope you’ll be all good to go by then. 2 and half weeks sounds really good, week up north and then the ring road or more time in one of other regions? :)

    Where can I find campsites to park and charge my camper van?

    • @janiniceland
      @janiniceland  3 дні тому

      It's best to consult with your rental company because in the winter many campsites are closed. I also have all the campsites marked in my Iceland map/guide.

    I will be in Iceland on this Sunday 😊. Looks like not a lot of snow this few days. Am i right? 😭

    • @janiniceland
      @janiniceland  6 днів тому +1

      No, we've had some very warm temperatures lately and the forecast doesn't look very promising for snow either - there's some snow up in the mountains, but that's about it for now :(

    • @SH21uk
      @SH21uk 6 днів тому +1

      Thank you for the update, mate.
      I’m expecting a lot of snow in the coming days. 🥲 it’s quite disappointing not to have much snow, especially in Reykjavik and Vik. Compared to last 2 years in Feb, there was a lot of snow. On the bright side, I can now drive more safely since there’s not a lot of snow on the road. 😂

    If the "Northern Lights" are not your priority, me thinks you really need to sort out your priorities !!!
    If you are a "Hot Rod" driver back where you live, you might end up DEAD, if you are not careful, unless you are experienced in Winter Driving.
    Iceland is not Florida. So you are going to spend money to "Gear Up" for a real Winter Experience !!
    Volcanoes on the Reykjanes Peninsula, and the Blue Lagoon are not the only "Sights to See" in Iceland. GO NORTH BABY !!
    The Iceland meteorological Website is your Go To Weather Channel for Iceland !! AND
    Jan is your Tour Guide for all things Iceland.
    Gylfi and Roman are your Drone, and Tour information people !!
    Have a Nice Trip to Iceland. And follow the Scout Motto "Always Be Prepared."
