The reason the taser affects the screen as if it were a stylus is because the touchscreen uses rows of microscopic electrical wires that run a small amount of electricity through it. Any object that can conduct electricity (like your finger) can activate it because a computer in your phone will detect a disruption in the wiring.

I'm sure you realize by now, but the only reason it surges the LCD in that spot is because the flex cables connect to the matrix on the bottom across the LCD particularly on 7 and 7 Plus. It may freeze up the home button from lightning fast pulsing the reachability, but that's nothing to do with the screen. Any predecessor this would have to be done above the LCD.

To the people saying this wouldn't work, you might not be entirely correct. You can charge the capacitors in the USB killer by plugging it into a power source with the tester. If the capacitors aren't being discharged by a resistor, then you could plug two of them into each other after charging one or both of them and it might do something. I think it would be interesting to see the result in case it does work.

The cut out in the audio cutting out is due to the inductive reactants from the high amount of voltage being outputted. When not connected to anything the flux lines should be rather stable and retain a constant shape, however when arcing across the metal port you created a contrasting magnetic field. I'm assuming you use analog 3.5 audio for your mic which would mean the magnetic fields are warping the transmission signal causing an error as its too much for the ground to contain. Similar would occur if you use usb but that may be less effective as digital signals would just stop being recieved till the distortion is ended, with analog the signal is too much to be processed and therefore cuts out. The only type of signal that would be unaffected would be optical audio as magnetic fields have no effect on it however optical is considerably more expensive and mics are uncommon in the format unless it's a headset.

Thanks for your explanation, although other people may benefit from it, I'm an established electronics engineer. My first comment was sarcastic, as the uploader stated that he thinks the output voltage is around 1 million volts and the output current 1 Amp! The output would essentially be 1 Megawatt! enough to power over 100 homes at once. A true taser tends to output around 50KV, current output would be no more than 2mA (0.002 Amps).
Well the guy doesn't have a good idea about electronics and he just said a bit of nonsense there. Clearly not 1.3A at that voltage. Maybe the charging current is 1.3A.

The home button isn't making it glitch up and down in super speed. If you know anything about LCDs, the vertical matrix is getting compromised.
I am probably wrong...but what might have disabled your microphone is electromagnetic field generated by arcing taser. Electrical discharge or flow generates magnetic field. Touching phones pins probably connected the flow to the antenna of the phone and that antenna maybe amplified or simply diffused that "jamming" signal that was picked up by microphone,so you got static and overloading,and eventually shutting down. Longer exposure to this field could permanently damage electronic devices so use caution. I'm talking about some kind of weak EMP or something.
