Wow, the FIA just keeps shitting the bed constantly And now this fool wants to get rid of practice. What the hell was wrong? They’re trying to save money somewhere is it political it’s probably political the FIFA is an international joke along with their stewarding of the race.
IMO There can still be FP3 and Qualifying on Saturday wth race on Sunday. I love FP1 and FP2 too seeing Alonso killing it, but its at the end waste of my time, waiting to watch it which i could watch on Saturday and Sunday. I am just biased on saving some time without the guilt of missing out on anything. TLDR- I see some merit in going away of Fridays.

They need some practice for sure, all racing does. They don’t practice anymore in NASCAR (sometimes when they have a new downforce practice)and it hurts the sport. They need to shake the car down, make sure everything is balanced and tightened up. Maybe not three hours for F1, maybe two 45 min sessions.
Who bloody says “the public don’t like practice sessions”? Not the bloody public that’s for sure 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

It's crazy without practice session. Engineers and drivers get no clear cut of car for the rest of grand prix weekend.
Domenicali now clearly shows he does not have ANY idea how racing works. The free practices are very needed to find a good car set up for racing. If they skip the free practice, we will see a very very dangerous racing on Sunday. I thought safety was the biggest issue in F1.. this idea is just crazy and stupid. Maybe one free practice session can be skipped, but they really need the other two! Typical ideas from someone who totally does not understand how things work in F1.
Say what you want about Ecclestone; the man knew that some things have to remain and be protected, and that consistency should be the name of the sport.
Scraping practice sessions, then getting rid of tyre blankets is just asking for a driver to get seriously injured if not worse....but that's ok because f1 is all about entertainment nowadays.
When the team principal doesn’t trust his engineers, that team is dysfunctional and in a very bad way. As for the practice sessions, I look forward to starting my race weekends with the sessions. What is Domenicalli smoking?
Just have FP1 and FP2 also be Q1 and Q2.
Places 11-20 are placed during FP1. Places 1-10 in FP2. Make it so you have to maintain a certain time for each lap so you aren’t holding everyone up. Or even have fastest laps taken away if they do.

He wants more races each season, so shorter weekends would result in a fuller calendar. And more money for FOM from entry fees.
I think porsche needs to come with a power unit, Williams could be a good team for them to partner with. Or just buy Alpha Tauri outright. But without a PU, they're gonna struggle to enter the chat. Maybe they can partner with a team and then take an Audi PU (which is actually based on a porsche project from a few years ago).

I find it incredible that Alpha Tauri's chassis and aero specs are not more aligned with RB's previous 2022 car. Given Red Bull owns the sister team. Seems stupid to not help them technically as much as possible. How stupid a policy. Instead we have Aston Martin developing a RB18 clone from the brain drain.
RBR isnt AT. So no they dont share. Red Bull owns both but Its not 1 team

I think every true F1 fan would like to see several teams fighting for the championship. Sadly, that doesn't look likely. RedBull is just too far ahead in performance. Was that the intention of the new rules? Definitely not, but add the engine freeze into the equation, and it does seem obvious.

@@britishfilmguy no... Porsche know what it takes and how to win... They don't need others trying to control what they can and can't do within the team. Footworks is a prime example of what happens when others try to run the show. Look at how successful their factory teams have been in endurance racing since the early 70s to current times.

The one thing I don’t like about F1 is that you can be an amazing driver but can’t do anything in a bad car. Indy car same thing. NASCAR is a great form of racing where you can win in a not so good car with strategy, tire fall off, on and off gas / brakes etc, pit stops.

F1 is like a soap opera these days; boring as hell. I’m from the sixties when drivers didn’t have electronic gadgets and only had pit boards to inform drivers. It’s a big switch off for me. Drivers spit the dummy out of the pram too much when things don’t go their way. 🥱
