I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

Gosh SM is really doing it BIG this year, Drama is easily one of my favorite comebacks of the year. It has everything I love from æspa, the fierceness, the vocals, raps and the choreo is really nice too ! So glad you checked it out Jeff !
I went to Aespa´s concert and honestly their vocals are so stable, you can hear them so clearly singing even when the choreography is so hard
I love when SM spent their money properly, because that MV looks bomb!
The do done their own stunt. They even joke about how they joined to be a singer but SM sent them to acting/action school😂 Also it's not only the MV that is perfect but also the teasers! The budget was budgeting 🔥
SM center divisions are going crazy with all these comebacks!!! From NCT to RIIZE then now to Aespa 🔥💯 and Red Velvet is also coming back next week 🥹

Sm is brilliant for dividing up their best producers and doing division. It spreads the work out and give their groups more input. They basically took JYP’s own strategy, tweaked it and did it better
Karina has a black belt in Taekwondo but she took action school for SMCU and this MV. The girls seem to do most of their own stunts. Winter also went to action school for SMCU episodes and Karina had to take scuba diving lessons for her water scenes from SMCU ep1.

aespa wants song quality over tiktok song quality since most of the comeback today only focus to go viral on tiktok but aespa is different.They are focus on bringing vocal heavy song. Drama is really one of the books!

12:58 I think it's Tiffany (SNSD) who said that prior to singing and dancing SM artists actually learn how to act too. Also, I don't know if you have watched any behind the scenes of Aespa's SMCU episodes, they're trained with professional stunt men also scuba divers for Karina during black mamba (swimming pool)
That i can confirm they do. Sm trains u in everything even acting. U may not have any interest in acting but them teaching u how to act is useful if ur a kpop idol
Hearing the girls vocals especially Winter and Ning Ning’s belts live was just wild. Like you said their vocals almost shook the stadium. I kept questioning if they were singing live but then I’d hear their breath or the occasional mic pop and the girls were singingggg!
They hit us with a truck and went back for more 😭. Everything is perfect!!!

Karina and Winter have gone to action school for the last SMCU episodes (u should check out the last one if u havent!), and Ningning and Giselle were hanging on wires doing cartwheels and everything as well. 😅 so they do the action themselves. 1. Drama - it's perfect
2. Black mamba - perfect for debut
3. Next level - not a fan of sudden switch up but this song is a masterpiece...
4. Spicy - love how they change to a lighter concept from dark but still aespa sound.
5. Girls - it should have been amazing but there's something missing and I don't like choreo for the chorus
6. Savage - I know this song sets records but it's too much for me.
funny how we only share the first 1, honestly Drama is my favorite but after that I'd say 2. Savage, 3. Girls, 4. Next Level, 5. Black Mamba, 6. Spicy (the album that came with Spicy is my favorite but title track itself is my least favorite)

This MV is like an epic movie, like what you said Jeff. This video is definitely part of the SMCU/storyline aespa has been having. I know the entire MV aespa is dealing/fighting with their evil twins/doppelgängers (clues are hinted from the trailers), and i've been watching this MV so many times to figure out who is the good one and who is the evil one (i still haven't figured this out yet 🤣). Such a fun experience!

The color and the vibe of the mv kinda reminds me of Shut up, shut up, shut up! by Exile The Second, its an older songs tho, the quality is different. Not many girl group can rocks that color scheme in their mv, its powerful. And the song reminds me so much with f(x)'s Dracula, SM really have a type dont they? man if they ever have a mv that will be awesome. But overall that was crazy good, Props to the production team!
