I am a certified instructor that mostly provides lessons to seniors in a retirement community. I'm glad to see that Steve is providing some focus on how to enable seniors to play more effectively which can be significantly different from the approach a younger more mobile player may use. Additionally, this will allow senior players to play safer and with less risk of getting injured or falling. Thanks again Steve.

I’m 69 and I do this. Not sure I do with my arms. I need to remember that!
The floating ball works really great!

Not elderly... but have had my butt kicked plenty of times by elderly people so this is still good advice for me to follow.

I’m confused doesn’t the server have to let it bounce?

I agree, these tips work fine if you're "thin n athletic" and experienced..
New players < 1year are not usually able to follow this process..
Also, having your partner "switch" creates 2 players moving?? This puts an advantage on the return team to target BOTH players vs. only 1..
    Nice n short video.

the crossover seems like just one more opportunity for a senior to fall....just saying

How a player positions themselves and executes a return of serve will vary based on their physical capability and playing ability. While a crossover may be recommended for some, to your point it may not be a good option for others but it is an option to consider none the less. For my senior students I actually suggest using a "Sprinter's Stance" as a option. I actually learned this technique during my certification and have used it myself to verify the possible benefits. For me it seems that a sprinters stance for return of serve could be a good compromise between Steve's crossover suggestion and having both feet parallel at the baseline to enable a faster transition to the NVZ line.
