WITNESS features works from fourteen LA-based Black femme-identifying artists who project their vision of the world, society, community, and themselves through their art. The exhibit explores the intersectional vantage point of the Black woman artist-inviting the viewer to bear witness to what they may not otherwise see on their own.

This was my struggle as an 80s baby. Back then you were either a Stud or Femme. Society wanted me to pick either or. You see I'm way too Feminine to be a Stud/Butch but way too masculine to be Femme. I dress like a Boy and people expect me to be super masculine and aggressive like a man but thats just not me! . If I had to choose a label, Stem would be to best describe me. People who remind me of me: Lady Luck, Da Brat, Maxx(A League of Their Own) Jaliya(Entangled With You)..All in all never be afraid of being YOURSELF! ☮

This has been my struggle as well. Back when I came out you had to choose. I always said that I was a blend. That wasn't acceptable. I am just me and live life

I'm an 80s baby and I hated that! If you chose neither people would call you confused. In this era you can be whatever you want. This generation don't know how good they got it!
