Edit: Forget what I said, after rewatching the video I saw you cannot skip any of the cylinders. I remembered the level design totally wrong. This is how I dislike this level. (This also happens when you answer to an years old question, I normally don't rewatch the video after every reply. ;))
I made a mistake with my ealier comment. This level is one of the few cases in this game where a level is more difficult than later ones in the same world. I found level 6-2 much easier. Another case is level 4-2 and 4-3. The second part with the fishes is annoying and the melon minigame (of the same type: balancing stacks of melons) more difficult than that of 4-3. The earlier one has a stair-like obstacle while the latter is just a straight path after you beat all the enemies beforehand.
A fine example of what a TAS has to offer in Yoshi's Story.

Bowsergaymer pro Montoya TAS is a tool assisted speedrun, it technically is cheating
"TAS is cheating" comments just won't go away. If there's a TAS, one can almost surely guarantee there will be a comment about it being cheating.
