Hi. I recently got diagnosed with Diverticulitis. This is the simplest explanation I've ever heard. On point. I now understand what I'm experiencing. Thank you.
Thank you for the straight forward explanations of the difference between ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. I always struggle distinguishing one from the other. You excellently simply it. Million thanks and more power!
Most of her videos are short, but full of details and the most necessary information, she's my go to when I don't have any urge to read heavy books.. What a life saver! ❤
Suggestion: Your videos helped me tremendously as I was going through nursing school! I am now studying for the NCLEX and I would love to see more SATA questions at the end of your videos. Many students struggle with SATA questions and it may help them prepare better for NCLEX/exams if you include them at the end. (:
Honestly, I like more details... Especially if you're not understanding the concept. But her videos are helpful sometimes. If I need extra details then I find other videos. Sometimes you need extra details...sometimes not.
Hey I'm on my way to VGH here in Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦....I have had issues with diverticulitis on and off since twenty 11. I'm getting this 3 to 4 times a yr now.
Very informative. Good thing I am familiar with medical terminology. May have been even more helpful to the general population if more layman's terms were used when possible or explain some of the acronyms. Thank you!
Glad it was informative! We actually have separate videos on Ulcerative Colitis and Diverticulitis as part of our “Ask a Nurse” series, which is designed for the general public (using layman’s terms). This one is more geared towards nursing students. Check it out!
Hi, Thanks for the information. I was diagnosed with UC 2 years ago, and now I think I have symptoms of diverticulitis. Can I have both simultaneously, or is it more serious? I usually (almost 3-4 times a day) get pain in my lower left abdomen, but after passing gas or defecating, it goes away.
Well I was just diagnosed with diverticulitis during a colonoscopy . I ate popcorn today and that did not bode well, excruciating pain left flank . I’ll have to learn what works and doesn’t . I do not think mixed nuts are doable as I feel eating those at work all summer triggered it
i am a bodybuilder. i’ve ate very healthy for 2 years now. recently got diagnosed with colitis. lost almost all my gains. i’ve been bedridden, so sick. i can’t eat. i feel miserable. i’ve tried gluten free, didn’t do anything. i eat my vitamins. i still eat healthy. i feel so lost. i’m only 21. what do i do?
I am so sorry… I’m not a bodybuilder, but strength training is an important part of my life. So I can only imagine how hard this has been for you. Finding a provider who specializes in treating Crohn’s disease is ideal. Also, this website has GREAT resources… www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/
i took panatasa 4g when colonoscopy revealed that i had u.c. After 2 months i took 2g daily. Its now 6 months after i had u.c. The symtoms of blood no longer appeared. Can i stop reduce it to half of 1g lof pantasa now it looks like i am
Do you have any suggestions as to how I can help my adult son, he has ulcerative colitis has been very sick and live in another part of the United States but I’m ready to move there to make sure all his nutritional needs are met. Do you know of a caregivers program to teach me exactly how to nurse this condition and dietary needs? Thank you.
Thank you so much for reaching out! Unfortunately we are unable to give out any medical advice and must refer you to your primary care provider. We wish you both the best!
I have a serious question, if anybody knows, please help me out What if you have all of those symptoms but you also have to have a trashcan in front of you while you are on the toilet, so what I’m saying is that you are having diarrhea and vomiting at the same time. Does that fit in with Crohn’s?
17 out of 20 on my quiz!!! and it was all because of your videos!!!! thank you so much!!!! XOXO
Ahhh that's GREAT!!!!

Wouldn’t it be a colostomy, not an illiostomy because of the location on the GI tract? You said this @3:22

Chrons (Mouth to colon)
Ulcerative Colitis (Colon)
Colonoscopy (Colon) for both
Endoscopy (Mouth) for Chrons

Is chronic skinny stool with no blood a common symptom of colitis, chrohns and diverticulitis? I'm 29 years old
Why is there going to be increased H&H and not decreased since you're losing blood from the stools?

I thought if you having diarrhea your losing your bases which makes it acidic so we wi have hyperkalemia
