    Best setup I’ve seen hands down. You can remove the whole unit to store, clean, do whatever to the yak. Also no drilling holes into the kayak!! It’s amazing bro, I freaking love it man! If I could like it twice, I would. Thanks man

    Very slick! I'm getting ready to add this same unit to my Nucanoe Pursuit. You may have just convinced me to recreate your design rather than. Spending $200 on a Yakattack Cellblock and Switchblade. Thanks for a great idea and video!

    Great video and elegant compact solution.
    You can get compression glands that can easily clamp onto the cables.
    The battery will handle getting wet well enough. So too the Garmin as long as it does not remain submerged for long.
    Personally I would double up on the bungee holding your setup and feet the bungee through the handle for that little extra security.

    Elegant solution. What i will add for my kayak (intex challenger) is On/Off switch and switch breaker. I think it will better to put some wood plate base to make thr box more stable. In your case it will better to attach it to the kayak floor. In addition i thinking off adding one fishing rod stand and attach it to the wood plate base.

    Like the video !! for using it without a boat. I've got plans to take some styrafoam and make a bit of a mini boat/raft for the transducer, and float it on the river near me. there's some nice holes where i've never seen the bottom of just because of how fast and deep the water is, and there's vortex's that'll push you down so its dangerous. but this would be great to float by and map it all out. Using anchor points and stuff of course

    You can definitely find a rubber grommet for the wire in the ammo box but I'd suggest using some epoxy/sealant

    This is innovative, thank you, I think the bungee cord will not hold the battery if the kayak tips over. So might want stronger couple straps to secure it. overall, amazing Job.

    • @AllTheHobbies
      @AllTheHobbies  5 років тому +1

      Thank you. I dont think it would snap if it turned over. Battery only weighs about 5 lbs. It cant slide off either end with the finder on one end and the transducer arm on the other but it could be more secure with more or better straps. I was out all day and only moved when I was taking the arm in and out.

      @KainOutdoors 6 місяців тому

      I used it like that for about a year. I like kayak fishing so much I bought a Old Town Pedal kayak and installed that garmin on it permanently. I only got to use it off that kayak 2 times in that time. It did work but I just didnt need the portability enough to keep it that way.

      @kevintaxera8473 5 років тому

      All The Hobbies I must ask, did you just drill some holes and use zip ties for the transducer arm? A brilliant system brotha. You could patent and market this system. It seems very functional and efficient.

    • @AllTheHobbies
      @AllTheHobbies  5 років тому

      @@kevintaxera8473 Yes. The zip ties started as a temp solution to see if the setup worked but ended up working fine so I used it like that. Im not sure about patent or marketing this. There are so many variation between batteries, Fish finders and kayaks that these need to be made for what each person has. Im not even the first person to use and ammo can in this way either. I just wanted to show the process I used so others could make their own.

      I have a 7ah battery and I get over 8 hours out of it running split screen with the traditional and Clearvue at the same time. If I reduced the brightness and used the traditional alone it would probably go two trips.
