    My wife and I bought a 2019 Jeep Rubicon 2door. We love it! It drives exactly like my 1985 CJ7, with mods. It was great at Windrock for the 20 or so miles we went. 6 cylinder engine. Great for short turn arounds. It has an 8,000 lbs Warn winch, the bumper was made fo r it.

      Dr. Dan Knepper thanks for the reply! Glad to hear you are enjoying your 2 door and that you have it out on the trails. I also recently installed a Warn winch on my Jeep. Very happy with it although I’ve only used it to pull out bushes in the yard so far. 👍🏻

    $52,0000 is alot of money! If you wanna offroad this is not the jeep to buy. I had 2011 Rubicon I absolutely loved it but I beat it up offroading. You can build one for offroading better and cheaper. If you want a pavement pounder you can still buy a sport and change something to make it what you want for way less. "Quadratic" sells every single part you could possibly want. But with all that said it's still a bad ass jeep.

      Brian trerotola not everyone is handy with a wrench and some want to buy a ready to go warrantied vehicle. Just different strokes for different folks is all. I could discuss this all day but I could argue every angle of it. All depends on the individual situation you are in.

      I don’t think your average person is going to buy a sport and swap in Dana 44 axles, lockers, sway bar disconnects. That’s kind of hilarious that you even think it’s that simple. Having a shop do it you’re looking at 15 grand in labor and parts at least.

      @RhinoAg who said anything about a shop parts are not that expensive. Jeeps have gonna downhill. Valve jobs are a regular deal on them now ask around. Not to mention other issues and the price of jeeps now! Way to much money and give you less than everyone out there! I just bought a 4runner TRD PRO it's 10 x's more superior to my Rubicon in every way My wife crosstrek wilderness is about on par with a sport jeep and that 10 x's more comfortable and has everything you can think of and it's still less than a sport jeep that offers NOTHING! Not even power windows! Jeep has fallen way off! But I guess that why tjey let so many people go?

    The two door is great as you say for whipping into parking spaces. This short wheelbase works great on the trails too. I have been behind JLUs that had to back up to get around a turn where, in my two door, you just whip around it.

    My experience owning one so far...
    Every ad, pamphlet, sales literature and even the sales pitch at the dealership revolve around it's off road capabilities. Yet doing things I did on a weekend basis with my 20 year old Wrangler TJ Sahara caused the yolk on the front inner axle to fail, taking out a ball joint and snapped an ear off of the now cheap aluminum steering knuckle. All on a brand new 2019 Wrangler JL Rubicon!
    First they tried to brush me off due to evidence of mud under the vehicle (for real?). The argument quickly escalated that I possibly hit something despite 0 damage on any other components. They wouldn't say I did hit something for sure, but since it was a possibility... they had an argument. It was also a possibility a part failed... just saying. When making it clear I couldn't be without a vehicle any longer and that I have to get it fixed, I asked if it needed anything else. They didn't know, as they didn't inspect it. They just saw it was broke and dirty and essentially just said nope unless I paid up. I was told they could see if anything aside from what they could see by looking behind the tire was broke, but I'd have to pay for a full inspection. At one point I was given the option to pay in "advance" to speed up the repairs and if the warranty kicked in, I'd be reimbursed. Ya, right...
    Being jerked around between the dealership and customer service, I took my jeep elsewhere to get fixed. Doing so apparently waived my right to complain anymore or receive compensation. But after 2 weeks of being without a vehicle... it had to be done. It turned into 3 weeks after everything was said and done.
    That's what 60k buys you!
    I've posted this a few times on Jeeps facebook page. Which are all deleted and I am blocked now from commenting. Guess your only allowed to tell people to go ahead and void your warranty work, it's fun!

    Saw a rubicon tuber in Oregon desert, just easy dirt and sand, no crawling or anything, steps out to survey a campsite. Turned around and his Rubi was on fire for no reason, 30 miles from pavement it burned to the ground, reinforcing keeps reputation for unreliability. That's why I wouldn't go near any keep the most important part of off-roading to me is actually making back.

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts 5 років тому

      jupiter22177 that sucks! Hope they had insurance. Stuff happens though. Unless you know the cause for the incident you can’t jump to reliability issues. You don’t know if the person was at fault for some reason. Could have taken the oil cap off, oil spat up on the engine and ignited. Would that be the Jeeps fault or the person who left the oil cap off? Not many people would willingly admit a mistake like that either. Just saying.

    Putting a Turbo on petrol engine takes away all the advantages of it over a Diesel. It makes the Engine more complicated, more parts to brake and more money spent on repairs and maintenance. I agree this Jeep doesn't sound like a Jeep, it sounds like a lawn mover. And than you revv a cold engine...

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts 4 роки тому

      what advantages does a small naturally aspirated gas engine have over a Diesel engine? Adding a turbo is basically one assembly that is fairly easy to maintain as unless it fails, there is no added maintenance. Diesel is far more expensive and that is not off set by maintenance cost on a turbo.

    • @odys3803
      @odys3803 4 роки тому

      @@QuickShifts it does because it takes a lot of kilometres until you need to change the expensive parts of a diesel. With NA petrol you'll never have to worry about anything other than spark plugs (outside regular maintenance). If you plan to sell after a year or two than it's the next owners problem, but if not. Diesel is more reliable and fuel efficient, if you're getting a 4 cylinder with a turbo, get a diesel. Having a 2 litre engine in a vehicle this heavy is a bad idea in the first place anyway.

      Phil Pine if you are going to off road, automatic is easier. But manual is a blast if you are up to the challenge. This is definitely a personal question and to each their own. Let me put it this way, I keep building manual transmission Gladiators. You just can’t beat rowing through the gears even with all the convenience of an automatic. But I still love my automatic Moab.

      @@PhatboyHD88 Thanks Bro..! I know in the back of my head the Auto would be better generally speaking. I'd be on pavement about 90% anyway.

    51k for a Jeep? Hell no!

      MrRedskins0021 it is a lot of money pound for pound for a tiny baby Jeep. 🤔

      fhoneman most dealerships are offering 5-7k off now. I think Jeep caught on that the price was a bit too high.

    Well at least it's a 2 door but all that fluff bells and whistles for the new wave pansy jeep drivers. Go back to your prius. Jeep is getting further and further away from being Jeep with all the 4 door limos. Do you know what they call a million 4 door Jeep Wrangler limos at a salvage yard about to be crushed into a Campbell soup can? A good start!

      Jeep Life71 love you purist point of view. I respect that. But, why not advance with technology? I bought a 2004 GTO brand new, dropped an insane amount of time and money in it to race and have better power and handling. Now you can buy your choice of cars making the same power or more and that likely handle better as well. Am I angry? No, not a bit. I’m glad the industry is advancing and getting better. I’m glad cars are getting better and faster. They day is not far away when somebody is going to rule it unsafe and take it all away so we can all have autonomous forms of transportation. All electric, computer driven. All purest will die a little.
      But I salute you. Have you driven a Roxor? It’s basically exactly what you say you love. Back to the basics like the original Jeep. I got to drive one at Jeep Jam and it was a blast. Wouldn’t give up my modern Jeep, but would make a great off road toy to play with.
