All the new stadiums say the same sales pitch - Superbowls - Final Four - World Cup Soccer - Olympics etc . Only so many of those events to go around.
& if it’s true then the owners should invest there $$$$ , since it’s such a great investment.
No , they won’t do that , they want taxpayers to pay for the Stadium & the owners will reap all the $$$$ profits.

    • @moonytheloony6516
      @moonytheloony6516 5 місяців тому

      Well that is kinda true.
The McCaskey's intend to put up 2 billion and I believe they are asking for 2 billion in public funds which I don't agree with.
Now keep in mind the White Sox want 1.7 billion in public funds to build their new stadium so you're looking at 3.7 billion of your money going to two massive projects
Hopefully this will be subjected to a public vote of which I'll
predict Illinois will say no, as they should.

I hope it’s built with a retractable roof, so Bears fans can enjoy the elements in September and October.

    • @moonytheloony6516
      @moonytheloony6516 5 місяців тому +1

      That's a fixed roof.
      Retractable is more expensive.
They don't need a retractable roof and the Bears have been very clear about that for quite some time.
Whatever or wherever that new stadium will be...it will be a fixed roof.
So get over it unless you plan to kick in the money for your moving roof.

It's all very nice but I do have a few logical questions.
Is this stadium more expensive to build in Chicago than Arlington Heights?
I'm guessing yes, because of the fact that it's in Chicago on the lakefront, but I'm not a commercial real estate kinda guy so feel free to weigh in IF you have a background in this sort of thing. People suffering from the Dunning-Kruger Effect are not welcome and I will know the difference.
It's also rather hard to see any access infrastructure going to and leaving this stadium which according to a lot of Bears fans that I personally know, claim is a nightmare regarding the current stadium.
And that's not me using the word nightmare. THEY use that word to describe their yearly experience.
4+ billion and I'm fairly certain the McCaskeys want some public funding....in the 1-2 billion neighborhood, which I hope is something that the public should be allowed to vote on, because they shouldn't get it.
And if the voters to get to have a say about it, I don't think they will vote with a "Hell Yes!" but that's just me.
So Illinois has a very very big problem right now because while this got unveiled in a melodramatic presentation, the Chicago White Sox also want a new publicly funded stadium at a cost of roughly 1.7 billion dollars.
So Illinois taxpayers are being asked to be very ok with the potential of almost 4 billion dollars to finance two city stadiums, one at the coveted location called "The 78"
and the other at a palatial lakefront location facing the glorious Chicago skyline.
Yikes....that's a lot of money for a couple of "wants" when Chicago has a lot more "needs" that require attention these days.
I'm all for both projects without the assistance of pubic funds of any sort, but that's just me, again. 😜
Not to mention neither the Sox or Bears deserve these stadiums because they both positively suck.
    PS....
Though I have to say that between the two, the White Sox deserve a new stadium more than the Bears and before ya lose your lunch over that opinion....I'll make a brief case (pun intended....get it? brief case??)
At least the hapless pale hose have a World Championship in the 21st Century during the age of the internet. There are more people that are still alive that can accurately recall the events of the 2005 season.
The Bears are pushing 40 years removed and filling up the cemetery at a faster rate, so if given the choice...let the Sox have their stadium and send the Bears to Salt Lake City, Utah, but for the third and final time, that is just me.
Thank You for reading and remember no matter where ya go, there you are.

Woke is defined by the dictionary as follows...."alert to and concerned about social injustice & discrimination"
How is that a bad thing?
So Wally are u saying you are FOR social injustice and discrimination?
Are you going to tell me the dictionary is wrong and you're right?
If you're in favor of social injustice and discrimination, well that makes you an immoral piece of poop on two legs.
You're not THAT morally bankrupt and un-American are ya Wally?
      Or...are you?
      Hmm.....now that's a good question.
You tell me and I'll decide if I believe you or not. Sound fair?
You can bet your ass that's fair.
Ya see Wally it's like this, definitions of words don't care about your feelings. If you're an American, you should want to be Woke, that's what Patriotism should be about, opposing social injustices and discrimination (among other actions) which lines up with what the Constitution says about establishing justice, promoting the general welfare, and ensuring domestic tranquility.
That is literally woke verbiage as written from your founding fathers.
It's not anyone's problem but yours if you failed to read and understand the U.S. Constitution and the Dictionary. It appears you need to invest in an education and learn something useful for once in your life instead of sounding like a mook.
You have a problem with DEI?
      Too bad.
I would suggest that ya grow up by growing a pair and quit whining like a snowflake.
      And read your U.S. Constitution.
And read the dictionary so you'll at least sound like you know what you're talking about, Wally.
      You're Welcome.
