Yvonne, I am addicted to your videos. I never thought of being an artistic person, but you make me think I can really do this, instead of simply being relegated to the ranks of admirer! You are eloquent, articulate and funny. You don't take yourself too seriously when you make a mistake or have to redo a step. I can't wait to see more.

Hi Yvonne. Love your channel! Been a subscriber for awhile and love all the tutorials. I can usually get them in one or two tries. However, this one has me baffled. I have tried 8 times now and have used all different sized gears (8,10,14,20,25 etc teeth). My one side never turns out like the other side like yours. So frustrating. I am following exactly like you’re doing it, but at some point there isn’t a place to put the wire for every other tooth. I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. I bought so many gears and cabs for this project because I need to make a bunch. Any suggestions? Has anybody else had this issue? TIA, Penne

Hey Yvonne, for how long are you doing this already? I'm Uli from Germany and a bit of handicapped or disabled by using my right arm after an accident in July 2013. I'm written I'll since, waiting for my paper to get the early retirement. Before I was right handed, now I had to learn to do most things by using my left hand. That also changed my way to view and handle things cause I use my other part of the brain now instead. So I am not only bodily disabled but also completely mentally changed. I would love to learn these skills cause I know, this is what I want to do for the rest my life. So could you please tell me, if you are able to earn enough money with it and how much do you make or instead how much do you need for living. So sorry to bother you that much with personal informations but I have to survive however and to find a way to make money. Therefore I need your help really urgently to learn more about your skill.

Hey, Uki! My partner and I have been selling our jewelry and costumes professionally for 9 years, Thats quite the obstacle to face and overcome!! We have been very fortunate that we have been able to earn enough to scrape by; our best year we made $40,000 but at first we were lucky to make $10,000, and this is for both of us together, so we were living in deep poverty for a while, but honestly we weren't any poorer than we were when we were working day jobs. Also, I think it is important to point out that we don't have kids or anyone who financially relies on us, so we were able to make the choice to be really poor for a while until the business started getting going :) I hope this is helpful to you!

No they're not, but I really don't mind. I've grown to like the feeling of surprise when you get pretty things through the mail that you'd completely forgotten you ordered.
Or now and again, I go on a mad spree of inexpensive cabs and beads. Buying a little something every day for a week or so. Then just when you've had enough time to forget the excitement of the shopping ... Wahay! It's Christmas nearly every day for a week or so!
Nothing wrong with that slow boat in my eyes. 😂

Heya, Gail! I am really glad you enjoy my videos and I hope I can be helpful to you! It is difficult to know what to recommend to a person because what works best for me may not work best for you, and vice versa. The best advice I can give is to keep a diversity of products and price points; if someone doesn't wear pendants but likes your work, they may love a pair of earrings. Also, sometimes a client only has $5-$20, and sometimes they want an expensive custom piece. It is wise to have items for sale that they can shop through and choose from. Also, practice + patience + and persistence. Refine your technique, develop your style, and learn as much as you can. Be patient with yourself, the process, and your clients. and most of (I can no stress this enough) Don't give up! If it is still your dream, keep at it! As long as what you are doing is bringing you joy, keep trying your best and you will be rewarded! I have periodic live stream Q and A sessions here on UA-cam, and I'd love to be able to catch each other online and answer any questions you have in real time :)
