I see a lot of negative comments on this video, shame on them. I am Portuguese and very happy that you took the time and made the effort to put it together for everyone. Our language is difficult and our culture is very complex. There is a lot, not easy to compress into just a short video. But you did a great job showcasing the main focal points.❤❤❤. Muito Obrigada. Beijinhos. 😊💚💛❤️ 🇵🇹🌹
They ranked #2 in safety and quality of highways recently
The Douro starts in Spain and runs westerly through Portugal, ending in Porto. It is not the border between Portugal and Spain. The pastel de nata shown in the video is not even close to Pasteis de nata. Fact check
That depiction of Pastel de nata was a disgrace
So TrUE!
Why he did not mentioned the forçados corridas?
Fascinating. This past year I discovered that I'm part Portuguese and I find it very interesting. I'd love to visit someday.
you should!
The library that is shown in the video is not Bertrand in Lisbon but the famous Library Lello in Porto where J. K. Rowling writer of Harry Potter, was inspired for the library that she describes in the book and later on in the movie. Pastel de Nata is a small yellow crispy custard pie without any fruits cover. Pronunciation of the Portuguese words and especially when written, should be carefully reviewed before posting the video along other images that don't match with what is appearing in the video. Still, congratulations for the effort and research .
Portugal melhor lugar do mundo e lindo ❤
A blessed good day I love this Geographical and Beautiful Country of Portugal 🇵🇹 And I love thia Large Farm, house lands, and Landscapes,

So nice of you. Thanks a lot sir Marvin. God bless ❤️
Loved that they have phoenician links
Great video! Although, the description of the portuguese custard tart is correct, this video shows a standard custard tart. The portuguese custard tarts are not served with cherries (although there are cherry flavoured portuguese custard tarts) and they're more commonly bite-size!
Thanks for letting me know
What was your favorite fact about Portugal? 😄

nice video . thx
Thank you!
Not to mention they are a lot smaller.
Best video on Portugal I’ve seen so far in my research before taking a group of seniors there in Feb! Thank you!
Actually Lisbon has human presence even before the Fenicians
There were paleologic findings in caves in Lisbon
Magellan is a portugese, who discovered the phil.
3:52 when you said we had some odd dishes I was just like "he´s gona say something that I love eating"....Barnacles are good
The bookshop that was shown in the video is not Livraria Bertrand.
You forgot about the oldest stone circles in Europe
Too many amazing facts about this country
Lello bookstore is in Porto, not in Lisbon.
Understanding this European phenomenal either no man's land or a lure since the Cuban empire, which not long ago a pilgrimage was instated by a steady people from down South America, era 1960's to 70's. The main wine is port or Cristano Ronaldo with coffee & chicken & frogs dishes. The scenery is phenomenal and rumor had it that Noah's ark started & ended in Portugal. Later, they changed it to the ancient gallillea boat. Never the less, it draws people here, then they flee for whatever reason. The sea is full of swimming snakes, with box jellyfish, weird creatures, lots of myth to be continued....
The cod delicacy in Portugal is Bacalhau. The people there are crazy about it.
Yes!! I experienced that as well while visiting
Shakespeare and Company Bookstore in Paris also claims to be the oldest bookstore in the world. The more one travels the more you question all claims of biggest, longest, oldest, etc……
Interesting point of view
That's not a "pastel de nata", the cream custard, and that's not "livraria Bertrand", the book store
MAKE A VIDEO ON SPAIN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
We are!! it is being launched soon :)
Agree with @lynn5447 in the pronunciation of "Celtic." No worries, I do like your narrative & you speak very well, no need for Closed cations!
Against the law to pee in the ocean...?
That's a funny one! How can you tell?
In a pool, maybe....the ocean?
Come on! Fish pee AND poop in the ocean.
Enjoy all the videos. 👍😎
Thanks a lot, it means a lot to me 😁
Yes, I have no clue how they can tell and wonder if people actually had a fine for it
Its about behave, there are bathrooms everywhere
No one is going to be there monitoring you. But it's a principle that should be respected. We trust people to be sanitary adults. We offer bathrooms so you can relief yourself. :)
Why you talking about Bertrand library, showing images from Lelo's library ?
The way you pronounced the Portuguese words made me laugh.😂😂😂, and there is no translation to the word Fado.
Fado is actually a word of Arabic origin. Same as the style of music and melody. The Moors has a huge influence in Portuguese language, art, and culture.
@@joanofarcxxi Wrong, the word FADO comes from Latin.
You forgot to mention the portuguese islands 😊
We might make a future video about that!
so true ... Açores and Madeira several times voted 'Best Island Destination in the World' ^^
2:40 how do they check it? 😂
they don't x'D
Good video
Thank you
Fàdo is not Fade-oh but good video
How would you pronounce it?
@@all-about-europe fah-doh
0:25 ...
Não acertam uma! Mais erros que...
Nao seja negativo. Acertou sim, e mais do que nao ter nehum video acerca de Portugal.
It's not pronounced azuehos, it's pronounced azulejos. In Portuguese, the "J" is pronounced as "j" and not "h" like in spanish
l Spain use to be a speck on the map
So how do they enforce the no peeing law in the ocean?
I really have no clue but these fines are no joke!
Everyone pees while swimming. The law is for people who stand at the shore and pee into the water as if it were a giant toilet bowl.
We have special trained fish to hunt for sudden changes in temperature. They will bite your bits off
@@sn4tx😂😂
I was biten by a jellyfish
They are out there waiting for the moment
Tanto erro 😢 A livraria não fica em Lisboa. A livraria Lello fica no Porto. E há mais erros......enfim
Here are 15 fascinating mistakes in this video:
1:08 - "Its", not "it's".
1:20 - "Estrela", not "Estrella". Estrella is Spanish.
1:24 - Mondego, not Montego.
1:45 - Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, not Doria Formosa.
2:18 - Álvares Cabral, not Alvarez Cabral. Alvarez is Spanish.
2:32 - Neither Pinedagueres nor Pineda gatez, it's Peneda Gerês. In this case the "g" has "j" sound.
2:53 - It's Benagil, not Bengali.
3:42 - The path the Douro river takes is not the border nor it marks the distinction between Portugal and Spain, the river that (partially) does that is the Minho river.
4:24 - What??? I'm a 57 year old portuguese person and I've never heard of a carnival with boats in the Algarve! Plus, those pictures are from boats in Vila Nova de Gaia, which is in the opposite side of the country.
5:02 - Not any rooster, it's the Barcelos rooster.
6:51 - We call it Bacalhau, not Bacalao and certainly not mackerel.
7:50 - Azulejos, not Azuelos and definitely not willows.
8:46 - Sarah Del Rey, a Candia rose???? 🤣
9:12 - What others already said in the comments.
10:16 - Those clips are from the Lello bookstore in Porto, not from the Bertrand bookstore in Lisbon.
If you're going to keep putting subtitles in the videos, get them right instead of letting the Artificial Ignorance do them. Or don't put them at all, they make things even worse than your pronunciation.
Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate it a lot
Sarah Del Rey, a Candia rose - Serra d'Aire e Candeeiros
@@BrunoFerreira-fp3yy - Que grande novidade estás a dar a alguém que mora no sopé da dita cuja! 😄

The Douro River is *not* the border between Portugal and Spain and the video shown if supposedly a pastel de nata wasn't a pastel de nata. It was some kind of tart, but definitely *not* a pasteis de nata. I wish videos like this would fact check. I am sure there were definite some things missed and also I suspect there was stolen video in here regarding the carnival from Dave in Portugal's channel. 🙄
Thanks I will pass along the feedback to our editors :)
Samba dancing & carnavals.
Cmon!😮 Lots of imprecisions, and even lies Pastel de nata!?😮 You showed a white tart with preserved fruits 🤯 nr 40 is not Bertrand is Lello, miss rawlins use to go there when she lived in porto🤗😉 colourfull but imprecise 🙏🤭
Bom vídeo mas a legendagem…Jesus!😝
Some cities, references and visuals are actually wrong. Nice video, and I learned a thing or two, but this isn't fact-checked. Pronunciations are off. Some commentary different than what is being shown. Not great -
Thanks for your feedback, it is appreciated. We are strive to improve this for all future videos
There are a lot of wrong things in this video
The bookshop you showed is not located in Lisbon, but in Porto. Also what is shown as a picture of custard tarts is not them, but something completely different. Do your research and get your facts straight!
This sub titles are kinda bad
Was this video made using AI? It's just that there are so many things wrong. Fado is a traditional genre in Lisbon, not in all of Portugal. Here in the northern region there was no Fado, we have our own traditional music, just like in other regions. I found the video very cliché, Portugal has 900 years of history and people only know how to talk about the period of maritime navigation.
Celtic is NOT pronounced like the Boston basket ball team with the"C" like an "S". The "C" is like a "K".
THAT'S NOT A PASTEL DE NATA.
WITH CANDIED FRUIT ON TOP.... MUST BE ONE OF THE MOST DISGUSTING THING I EVER SEEN...
That was not pastal de do your research properly as you stated Coyle things wrong
And total corruption...!
Lmao who is checking if anyone's peeing in the ocean? No one that's who! OFC you can pee in the ocean, just don't make an anouncement of it.
As someonewho lives in portugal i cringe when you say algarve it is not pronounced how you butcher it😂
sorry!
So many mistakes!!!
And.. The images and video sometimes has nothing to do on what is being said... very bad video with random crapy facts
A lot of nonsense in this video, specially the subtitles LOL
im sorry, but the translaction is horrible, and the pasteis de nata are not those. And the pronounciation too. Most part of the places you wont find them written like that. I laught a lot
Terrible video. Images of places do not match the naration, and the subtitles are not even correct when he says that cod fish is Bacalhau (which in the subtitles is translated to mackerel). Far from accurate, images poorly put together. Example the oldest library in Chiado does not look like that… the images are the ones of a library in Porto (300km away from Chiado/Lisbon). Same as the Algarve coastal village shown… That village is actually off the coast of lisbon, not in the algarve. Poor poor job.
